This “cancel anytime” app is a trap you can not get out of without significant effort and numerous roadblocks!
Crashing looses place in book. Unknown amount of listening hours- they won’t tell you how many!! How can a service you pay for not tell you how many hours you’ll get?!
I want to love this app. But it is so GLITCHY. It will refuse to play, saying I’m not on a network (wrong). It has stopped playing audiobooks while I am in the middle and given me a notice “this is not available in your country” and promptly deletes the downloaded audiobook, only to have it miraculously be available again the next day. Lastly, the app doesn’t do well when switching from WIFI to cellular streaming and just spins. I have spent multiple rounds with their Helpdesk with NO HELP or even acknowledgement that their app may have a problem. Well, I have the latest iPhone and good WiFi and cellular so no, It Is Not My Fault.
I am a new user of this app, and i love being able to listen to a book while at work. it helps the day go along. but if a book series becomes unavailable, it’s frustrating when that’s the only thing i want to listen to. especially if it part one of a book…. is there a way to get access to those books besides waiting two weeks?
I’ve tried so hard to work with this app despite it freezing constantly and making books temporarily inaccessible while I’m in the middle of reading them, as well as long unexplained gaps in the audio of audiobooks. But today after reloading several times and being told I had a connectivity issue (every other app on my device and device on my network working fine), I deleted and reinstalled… …only for the confirmation account to log back in to be sent to the randomly generated Apple Store email that no one uses and which I certainly can’t access. I’m really sad because I love the idea of this app but it’s just more of a pain to have it than not have it at this point. And I’ve had an almost impossible time getting support in the past so I’m just giving up.
I have had this app for at 7.5 years and never has it been so limited in what has been available. This app has turned into a farce and a waste of money. Instead of apologizing for all of the different issues developer needs to come clean on why suddenly there are drastic limits on virtually any major publisher. One has to wonder how much longer before they shutter their doors.
I’ve had multiple times when I’ve been listening to an audiobook stop or pause it in the middle of the story, to come back to it starting over. I then have to spend time trying to figure out where I was without spoilers. Very frustrating. Also I wish there was a way to know which books were premium so I could plan better so I didn’t run out of them before the next billing cycle.
Like many other reviews, the mysterious limit that hits you at the most inconvenient times is more than just annoying. There is no clear message on what triggers books to be available a month later or why they are no longer available in the middle of you reading the very same book. Everand advertises to give you unlimited access to popular and current books. Both are false statements. There is a limit and even when contacting customer service all you get is a boiler plate ‚canned‘ response. Be transparent, upfront and open with your policies. Mysteries should be in books not in paid for services
I really enjoy this app, but I get halfway through the month when all the titles that I want to read come up as having to wait for the next billing cycle. I pay for the year in advance. For the amount of money that you spend on this app, you should have unlimited access to all the books and audiobooks at all times. It irritates me to no avail to keep having this happen. If they want to do that, then they should have a free version and then a paid version where that never happens. This could be a deciding factor on if I pay for the app again when my renewal comes up. I want unlimited access all the time.
My subscription renewed today. At 10 am, I was looking at my books and it said most of them won’t be available for a month. They were supposed to be released today. I got a couple of early morning hours before they cycled out most of what I was looking forward to being able to read or listen to for most of last month. I think a couple of days is unfair, but I basically got minutes before they cycled books out again.
