Dark design so you can’t unsubscribe

The app states I have to manage it in my subscriptions on Apple, but it doesn’t show up there. There’s a delete account option but only after unsubscribing and there is no unsubscribe button.

It’s pretty ok

It’s definitely better than others and has the books I love to read but the limit is very restrictive because I read a lot and fast. It’s very easy to use though and I prefer it to others and I will continue to use it unless I find something that works better for me. If you don’t mind a limit I would definitely recommend!

Worked better as Scribed.

In reading other reviews, it seems that I’m not the only one with operating issues. When I go to search for a book I get “no internet available” for days now. Also, I can no longer highlight when reading an e book. At least not in dark mode. Annoying.

Losing place in books

I really liked this app, but lately, it has been losing its place in my books and starting me over at the beginning. It has happened about 12 times in the past week. Very frustrating.

Used to be better

It seems as if the transition from Scribd to Everand cost us something. I used to be able to find lots of options for reading/listening — including many recently published books. Lately, when i search for books they are just “not available.” Disappointing.

Why is this app allowed to advertise falsely and collect a subscription fee!?!

GARBAGE! FALSE ADVERTISING! NOT UNLIMITED!!!!

What happened?

My app hasn’t been loading for 2 days now and it’s updated.

Disappointed in decision not to support my phone

I have been using Scribd (now Everand) for years. Very affordable and convenient, with lots of Spanish language audiobooks for listening to while exercising, and great content for iPad. BUT I can’t update this phone to iOS 16, and I don’t like the concerted effort by Apple and developers to keep us buying new phones! Phone manufacturing pumps millions of tons of CO2 into the air each year and consumes huge amounts of nonrenewable resources, as well as disposal of toxic metals—five billion phones were buried in landfills in 2022. All so we can have jazzy new interfaces, more emojis, and funny photo effects.

Great service but new app has glitch

I’ve been a long time customer of Scribd until it recently split its service with launched Everand. I continued using them and it even though essentially it has the same good options, this new app have a glitch. After I downloaded the app and read a book and then switch to another book, if I try to search something in it and click the search option the app closes itself. I might be able to use this feature possible a few times until it starts all over again. I had reached out to their Customer Service and they gave me tons of things to try. They even asked for a video demonstrating this issue which I sent. And no matter what it hasn’t stop. The only to make it go away temporarily is to uninstalling the app and reinstall it. Then I can use the search feature for a bit until it stops working again.

Great Library- When it Works

If the app actually worked more than half the time, it would be wonderful. Unfortunately it doesn’t. More often than not when I choose a title to open, it just…doesn’t. In fact, I’m writing this while the little spinning “loading” thing is twirling away, blissfully not opening my ebook. Probably others that I DON’T want to read will open without an issue, but not actually the one I want right now. The price is steep for an app that glitches as much as this one does. And it’s a shame because it has a really solid library of titles. I have five more days until I have to renew and I don’t know that I will again. It’s really aggravating. The app has literally one job, which is to all us to read or listen to a title, and it can barely manage that, and apparently only when it randomly feels like it.
