- First there was a cloud desktop app, then it stopped working so we have to go to the internet to see and download files with scrolling long way down while page loading, and if u leave it a bit it will log out then u have to log in again. - Second We hade to use the cloud 3 app on phone only, at least we’re able to see different shared devices and move around between them, then they stopped supporting this version. - Third we had to upgrade (downgrade) to cloud os 5, we can only log in to one device and log out and in again for different device, also I can’t move a file to a different folder only to the folders that are in the same main folder nothing in upper folders! - This is initial problems, in addition to that I can’t download folders only the files! Why these changes in to a horrible way, can’t under it!

Facelifted app belies missing features & user-hostility

Thermite Be Giants on

Australia

I was dreading having to upgrade to MyCould OS 5 because of this app - it lost a bunch of features that the previous app for MyCloud OS 3 had, such as being able to download files to local storage. Now that I’ve had to upgrade to OS 5 and use this app (because WD threatened to cut off remote access for customers using OS 3)… it’s worse than I expected. Music streaming from the new app is a joke. The new app refuses to advance tracks when the app is not open and in focus (ie when the screen is locked or you’re using another app). There is no way to filter your file search to only show music files, nor search by metadata like album artist etc Likewise, video streaming is also downgraded in a similar fashion. The new app might look nice but it’s just not functional. I wouldn’t recommend WD products to anyone after my experience with this app and the user-hostile policies that force me to use it to keep using my NAS in the way it was advertised.

Needed to upgrade, but won’t connect to my devices

ARPU $150 pm on

Told I need this upgrade, pity it doesn’t connect to any of my devices. Perhaps if it actually connected to wdhome, mybookduo this would be good. Not an easy app to use.

MY CLOUD BACKUP

Australia

I have been using MyCloud to backup photos from iPhones and iPads for a few years now. The previous software version was slow and inefficient but MyCloud 5 is great and means that my photos stay on my hardware
