Description

The my health gov app is known as my health.

my health is a secure and convenient way to view key health information that you, your healthcare providers or representatives have uploaded to My Health Record. It’s fast, easy, and secure - and you can access and share it all from the palm of your hand. my health app is powered by My Health Record, an initiative of the Australian Government.

To start using my health, you’ll need:
1. a myGov account linked to My Health Record
2. to have accessed your My Health Record at least once through a web browser
For help to do this, please follow all 3 steps to set up your record online - https://www.digitalhealth.gov.au/help/set-up

my health provides easy access to key health information once uploaded, including information on health services:
• medicine information history
• pathology results, including COVID-19 test results
• proof of vaccination history and upcoming immunisations
• allergy and reactions information
• hospital discharge summaries
• advance care planning documents
• find a health service
• book a health service (where available)
• link to healthdirect Australia’s symptom checker and medicines information

Extremely helpful although not without bugs

This really is the future. Putting our own health records into our own hands so we have the opportunity to make more informed decisions about our health and have better conversations regarding our care with our clinicians. This is fantastic if you have opted into My Health Record and the health care providers have connected results to the My Health Record service. I just went through and browsed my blood test/liver function results! Now for the bad. This app unfortunately is not consistent in opening these results. Often the app is unresponsive to touch when tapping on the desired test result.

Terrible User Experience, App Navigation/Linking

KatV00 on

I ran into consecutive troubles setting up the MyHealth app in the app itself. And when I called the support line, I was advised to set up everything from MyGov app instead on top of multiple issues linking My Health app to My Gov app. While using the My Health app, I tried following the instructions to add allergies and medication but there are no options to add as suggested. Instead again, I had to revert back to My Gov app to add these manually on a separate tab browser for My Health Record. And top it off, every time I sign into the My Health app, I am always asked to sign in to My Gov again even though I have already activated my PIN access.

It’s good and useful, I just wish ALL my things got uploaded, idk if that’s my drs fault but I’d like to be able to see my scans etc.

Great to be able to see results from blood tests, scans etc as well as medicines etc. nice design simple to navigate. Highly recommended if you like to see the details of your medical history.

Needs improvement

I use this app fairly regularly and it's very useful I had a vaccination yesterday and I followed the link which is in the app and it asks if you've had any reaction or unusual symptoms. (yes I felt a bit weird) So I followed the prompts filled in the multichoice questions (symptom checker) for maybe a couple of minutes continue to the next page, and I get logged out! This is crazy you need to sort out your priorities. Yes I know this is an auto time timeout/ logout for security reasons but you're going to have to do something about that if you want individuals to use your service and the service takes longer than the countdown clock.

Would be an asset IF ALL health care providers uploaded our medical information

I’d like to say up front that I believe most of the issues I’ve mentioned below are the result of non compliance on the part of the individual health providers and not the app itself & therefore that is reflected in my rating. I wish more people would do the same. Here are my thoughts-: It’s a promising app. However, unfortunately it’s usefulness is limited due to health care providers, who are part of the scheme, failing to upload the medical test results, hospital discharge summaries, xray & scan results etc, or outright refusing to participate in it. I’ve been frustrated on several occasions as a result of test being uploaded, but with the results being “locked for 7 days”. There is no indication as to why this happens and my most recent results are still locked after 8 days. I believe this is likely as a result of the provider requesting the lock, possibly with the expectation that the patient will see them for a full explanation of the results. It would be helpful if the app clearly displayed which providers have agreed to upload to MHR, as it’s apparently up to each health care provider whether they participate or not. I choose to specifically utilise providers who have agreed to upload to MHR. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Without a full and complete medical record it’s use becomes limited. It’s a real shame because if participating providers were fully compliant, the app would be invaluable, especially to patients with multiple/complex conditions &/or those who need to see multiple specialists from differing disciplines. Rather than a “do not send to my health record” check box, perhaps a “send to my health record” check box would be better, as the former is clearly being ignored most of the time. I do appreciate the effort that has gone into putting this app together and I sincerely hope something will be done to perhaps incentivise providers to upload ALL results ALL the time, and thereby allow this app to achieve its full potential. Just off the top of my head, maybe signs could be provided which state that this health care provider is a proud participant (& uploader) of MHR. Advertising both the existence and availability of the MHR app & the health care providers willingness to help keep their patients well informed. Just my 2 cents worth …
