Oak helps you decompress by transforming your meditation practice from an experiment into a habit. We support you from your first session to your 500th, with mindful, loving-kindness, and sleep meditations as well as unguided sessions and breathing exercises. Individualize your meditations by duration, and customize with silence or calming background sounds. Oak tracks your progress and encourages you to continue building a healthy meditation practice.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Meditation
- Guided mindful and loving-kindness meditations with male and female instructors
- Choose a guided session duration ranging from 5 to 30 minutes in length
- Choose unguided meditation sessions ranging from 5 minutes to 24 hours in length
- Sit in silence or choose soothing background tracks (bells, blocks, bowls, streams, and other gentle sounds) that encourage restfulness
- Courses: go deeper and learn to practice Mantra meditation with a 10-day course

Breathing
- Simple yogic breathing exercises that can easily be performed on-the-go
- Options include Box Breathing, Deep Calm, and Awake sessions
- Animated instruction removes the guesswork

Sleep
- Guided breathing exercises help relax your mind as you drift off to sleep
- Choose silence or gentle background sounds to play during and after your session

Meditation Timer
- For unguided meditation, set your custom mediation duration, background sounds (or silence), and interval chimes

Progress Tracking
- Oak tracks the number of minutes/hours you’ve meditated, mindful breaths you’ve taken, and the number of meditation/breathing sessions you’ve accomplished, as well as any consecutive streaks
- Discover new accomplishment badges the more you breathe and meditate with us
- The power of community: Monitor the number of Oak members mindfully breathing and meditating in real time
- Oak supports Apple HealthKit for tracking “mindful minutes” with the Health app (optional).

I would love to see a dark mode implemented to this app. I often use this app in the evening and it’s a little harsh on the eyes just before bedtime. It still deserves a five star rating though!

Most apps end up annoying me. Here is a free app that is actually free, not constantly trying to sell me stuff, and has exactly the features I require. A meditation app should be simple and elegant, and this one is just that.

Love this app. If you can, make the chime sounds quieter. Some of the background noises are a bit quieter so I turned it up and almost jumped at the end of my session lol.

Simple and elegant! It’s helping me to transform my life. The included content is high quality and probably all I need, but I think I’d enjoy some new content updates, such as new courses or meditation styles and would pay for them (no subscriptions please!). This app, though, is free and it’s already terrific as-is… maybe it’s best just to leave a good thing alone.

Perfect app for making breathing part of my daily routine

Went out of my way to review this app because I enjoy it so much. Why? It’s extremely simple and I don’t feel like I’m being sold or anything nor trying to navigate a feature-dense platform trying to do too many things at once. I’ve had experiences using meditation apps where in the middle I’m being served a video ad, which, to me, has to be the antithesis of meditation. I use this app 3+ times per day for brief breathing sessions and it improves my mood, focus, and happiness on a daily basis. Highly recommend for someone who wants a simple, but effective app for making breathing part of their daily routine. The creators of this app clearly are in the business of helping users benefit from the power of mindfulness, not trying to sell ad space for money.

It is a simple meditation app. The goal behind it is to learn how to meditate. It’s simple design is the best part. If you want to learn to meditate without the need for an app, then try it.
