I’ve been shopping at ASOS since probably 2010. Because the store has so many items in different categories, it really made good business sense with their policy on free shipping and free returns. Especially when there are no stores in the US that you could go and try stuff on. This policy for me was one of the reasons I continued to shop there. While I may have had a lot of returns I’ve also spent thousands of dollars on clothing and accessories that I kept. The most common reason for my returns would be the description was not at all relevant to the item or the quality was below par when I received it. And while I had a lot of returns, I’ve also had to deal with the incompetence of some of the employees who did not process my returns correctly, and that caused a lot of problems, some of which are still unresolved, resulting in a financial loss for me, not ASOS. I read their recent new policy on how they will process their returns and I think this is going to be something that will keep me from shopping at ASOS in future months and even years. I’ve successfully managed several businesses over the years and I find that when companies decide to change their policies and those policies are reversing or going backwards. It’s never good for their revenue and the customer service declines rapidly. Which in this case is already suffering, as their communication methods are one of the worst when having a problem and the only way to discuss it with an ASOS employee is to use their email system or the chat. Which in both cases are mediocre at best.

ASOS had amazing $20 premier shipping. This year the price increased but it was still less than $30 so still a great deal. They changed all the rules and it’s not even worth it. Now they’re blaming the customer for making too many returns calling people unsustainable. The whole point of premier shipping was free shipping and returns.

i am absolutely outraged that they changed this. it's one of the only reasons i even bought clothes from them and now i'm stuck with my premier membership for the next 6 months without getting free next day delivery

Good Product Selection, Poor Customer Care

I have been shopping with asos for about 5-6 years now. I have loved the selection and considering they don’t have physical stores the return policy is what compelled me to shop with them compared to other stores/websites. Great sales and great product. I’m sure it’s not easy to keep up with the business as you’ll find out things really do sell out quick. Now first off, I am not a fan of the sneaky tactics they have done to me this past year to sneak fees in or to just let me down all together. Not going into details but recently had been sent an incorrect item. I’m grateful they were able to assist me with that and when I received the “replacement” it was incorrect again. At this point I just did not have faith I would get that top and my size I wanted was sold out so I said forget it. They then charged me a fee and dropped a major discount on the items I did keep. They do disclose the terms but when returning you can’t see what you paid for that item or any discount that was used in the original transaction. This leads to misunderstanding and confusion. A lot of sales are limited time for short periods ranging all the way from 2 hours-multi day lengths. Why is this info for discounts used not disclosed after the sale so we are able to use it for reference. Upon placing a return just recently I was alerted that my account is being watched and they changed the terms to the membership I have with them ( a membership I paid for). I don’t see how this can be done without a refund because this is not what I paid for when I had purchased the membership. I have never done anything wrong and treat everything I receive with such care as also would be very upset to be an unhappy customer due to product management. I am officially done with you ASOS this is the final straw. I may not spend the most or even make up a percent of the revenue received but I’m loyal and respectful and always honor an honest brand. Do better and try to communicate with your customers to help retain them not accuse them of illegal activities and abuse. If you even dare accuse me of any such thing I will be in touch with authorities and we can straighten out the matter of conflict as it should’ve been done when suspecting someone or something you support it with evidence not just because you “believe” it to be true.
