EpocCam Webcamera for Computer Reviews

Super laggy

GermanLuk on

United States

In theory a great concept but the app is lagging so bad that it makes it unusable. I do not recommend purchasing the premium version since it seems to lag significantly more than the free version. I have connected my phone via USB as well as WiFi and always have this issue.

Doesn’t work after update

JQChacon on

United States

Latest update 8/5/24 causes app to no longer work. Do not purchase or support Elgato. App was extremely inconsistent anyway. Far better alternates available. This is a scam.

Works some of the time

XybepteK on

United States

You will plug your phone in, and then unplug it because it doesn’t work, and replug it in, and then restart the app on your phone, and reboot the computer 7 times, before it connects and starts working. It will work for about 10 minutes before it glitches out and you have to unplug your phone and plug it back in again, and then it will show your live feed again, until it doesn’t again. Using an iPhone 13 Pro Max via USB connection. I’m over it. Looking elsewhere.

Broken app that’s never been fixed

Shanobi1265 on

United States

This app freezes or breaks in another way every time I use it. The worse part is you can’t just close the app and restart it. If you restart the app never resets and the error keeps occurring. In order to get the app to reboot, reconnect and run the camera properly you need to restart your entire computer which then reboots the app. There is no option in the app to reboot or reconnect. Restarting completely is the only option. Needless to say this can’t be done in certain situations like meetings or cause issue as with streaming. This issue makes it unusable for these applications. This has been an issue ever since I began using this app. Don’t use this app it’s broken and doesn’t appear to be getting a patch any time soon.

Does not support audio, no support

gabo139 on

United States

I got the free version to test it and see how it worked. The video worked great. There was no audio. It indicated that I needed to buy the pro app for $7.99 in order to have audio which I did. The audio did not work on the pro version of the app. Their tech-support page said that I had to load an older driver onto my PC in order to run audio with the app. I installed it, and after hours of fiddling with it, it still did not work. I contacted customer service for tech-support and was told that it would be three business days before they got back to me. I already spent eight dollars and three hours of my life screwing with this product. I don’t know if I can get a refund because Corsair (the parent company) defers to the App Store for refunds and the App Store will not show that the purchase was made. Don’t get involved with this product.

Paid for pro. Doesn’t connect.

Tried everything. Won’t connect. Win11. Cable or Wi-Fi. Followed support site. Still no connection.

DONT USE FOR PC!!!

Sephirothundead on

United States

It pairs to my computer, but after a few minutes on a zoom meeting, it disconnects and shows an ugly elgato white lettering and the rest of the screen is black. Avoid this app and try camo instead. I paid for this app premium, but it isn’t worth the money, nor the space in your phone.

Trash

Dumb_Dash on

United States

Been trying to troubleshoot this app for the past 4 hours. USB doesn’t work and there is nothing I can do to fix it. WiFi mode stops working after about minutes of use… do better elgato.

Stopped working after purchasing pro

Lukemil4 on

United States

Right after purchasing pro, the pc download completely stopped working. It won’t even open on my pc at all. Support won’t help me

Horrible lag when used with OBS

Michael Weewee on

United States

This app has latency when used as intended that makes audio IMPOSSIBLE to sync with video for live streaming in obs. It is infuriating and unacceptable that this is the best that Corsair can come up with. Also it looks very unprofessional to have “Webcam” in your free version and “Webcamera” in your pro version, at least take care to make the TITLE of your apps match…My subscription ran out to OBScamera which I never had an issue with at all so I thought I would switch to an app with a one time purchase…absolute waste of money and I really hope I can get my money back with my refund request. If you are looking for a free version with no lag try out the Camo app or use OBScamera for a paid app that just works. Super disappointed in Corsair for this one.
