WHAT IS FLUENT FOREVER?
A revolutionary language learning method developed by Gabriel Wyner, an opera singer who needed to learn multiple languages quickly and retain them forever. Fluent Forever's products have evolved from pronunciation trainers into a bestselling book and now into the most crowdfunded app in history. Discover the immersive mobile experience designed to rewire your brain into fluently speaking any new language and hack your memory to remembering it forever.

HOW IS FLUENT FOREVER BETTER?
Rather than distract or briefly entertaining you like other "gamified" language apps out there, Fluent Forever doesn't waste your time with inefficient "bite size" lessons - instead, it immediately gets you correctly pronouncing and hearing the sounds of your target language, then efficiently has you learn the most frequently used words and push them into your longterm memory, and finally has you naturally build sentences using words you know and practice your speech to fluency. In short, if you're serious about speaking a new language, Fluent Forever will get you there faster.

FLUENT FOREVER'S METHOD
The foundation of our proven method, as detailed in Gabe's bestselling book, is based on the principles of personalized flashcard creation and spaced repetition, extremely powerful learning tools that optimize your brain’s memory abilities. So not only will you learn a language quickly, you’ll never forget it.
1. Train Your Ears With Pronunciation Lessons
You need to learn what a language sounds like before you can learn how to speak it. Our powerful tools like detailed instructional videos, mnemonic imagery and minimal pair tests will train your ears in the sound system of your new language.
2. Learn Vocabulary Through Images Instead of Translations
Within weeks you will understand the sounds of your new language, and you can begin learning words. By creating personalized flashcards using our memorable word association system, you will rapidly learn the most used words in your new language. You will then push these new words into your long term memory by reviewing your flashcards using our automated spaced repetition system.
3. Learn Grammar Naturally Through Stories Relevant To You
Once you learn the most used words in your language you can begin learning sentences. By visualizing how your new words fit into sentences about topics you’re interested in, you will naturally learn grammar through immersive stories, as opposed to boring lessons or complex conjugation tables. You will never be forced to learn words or grammar you don’t need or want to learn.

You can’t actually learn “any” language
I really love the book and this system. Both enable you to learn any language. But the promise of learning “any” language through the app has never materialised.
For instance, for me, the difference between Brazilian Portuguese (the only form they support) and European Portuguese (the language I want to learn) is enough to be more of a hindrance than a help.
I would love to give them my money if they had added the long promised feature to upload one’s own resources to learn *any* language, but this has never emerged.
If you want to learn a language other than the officially supported languages then stick with Anki.
Not worth the exhorbitant price
Don't buy this app, it isn't worth the money. You can do 90% of this on Anki yourself for far less cost. And the other 10% can be mostly covered by other, cheaper apps. This 10% consists of some grammar rules – completely unnecessary and they just add to the learner's workload – no 4 year old learns grammar, and neither should we. Then you have the 'world leading' vocalising section where you find out how sounds are made. Very technical but of little value unless you speak like the person who created it. My accent makes it worthless, I don't make sounds as he says you do. Finally there are the 'various uses of a word' section. Sentences which show the many ways you can use a word. Lovely section. I like that very much, but I'm not paying $100 per year just for that. I found the programming annoying. I don't need 'streaks' being forced down my throat. Neither do I like it when you are studying one of the above 'usage' sentences and, when you have to leave for the purposes of continuing your life, the ONLY option they give you is to say you have completed your work. No I haven't. But it is the only way to leave the page. So now I have to find the damn sentence as it is removed from the list. And in my two chosen languages the sound quality of the voice recordings is variable in quality. A simple app, like a Nemo product, has superb quality sound, but not this app. The good thing about it is that it solidified my idea on how best to learn a language – and it doesn't include 'fluent forever'.
Fluent Forever
I find the flexibility of creating flash cards and the utilisation of sentences to learn grammar both powerful and interesting. It’s part of my daily routine.
“Skip words” bugging
I like this app and have grown my vocabulary in my target language quite a lot. However the current version has a bug where it won’t let me skip words from the sentence sets that I don’t want to learn. This is frustrating because I am going to Italy in 1 week and I want to learn more words that are important to me rather than being forced to make flashcards for words I don’t want.
Excellent coverage of phonology
Working thoroughly through the IPA right at the start is just what I need when starting a language.
(Makes a huge difference to word recognition when listening, and also reduces the effort imposed on native speakers by our early experiments in speaking :-)
The best method for learning a new language
This is the best method I’ve come across for learning a new language, however it’s not true that the app can be used to learn any language (which they say in the first image above).
They haven’t added the necessary features to learn any language yet.
Not free at all, will forcibly charge you
App lives to claim it’s free but cannot be used without setting up a subscription, which was not clear until account was created and verified.
Now I can’t get out of this since it’ll automatically bill me, no option to cancel my subscription in sight, I can’t even delete my account on the site OR in the app. I’m completely stuck.
This is nothing but a scam to steal your money. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS.
Beware of fraud: no trial!
"14-day trial and afterwards £9.99/month".
Guess what? No trial, charged immediately. Cancelled subscription immediately and requested refund from Apple.
Absolutely bad experience.
Plateau after 2,000 words
The app is the best I have used for gaining vocabulary- but once I got passed c. 2,000 words the word count calculated by the app became completely stuck. No matter how many daily sessions, over however many months, my word count is now immovable. I was so looking forward to the next big milestone of 2,500 words and the next CEFR level, but it is impossible now (apparently) to add a SINGLE word to my vocabulary. I have reported this to the help desk on several occasions - the support agent is friendly but unable to get the developers to fix the bug.
Not worth it!
Delete the app. Now. Go and download any other language app.
It is the worst app to learn any language, the methodology is just not there and the content you get to ‘learn’ is nothing you would actually use in real life. I made the mistake of buying a subscription and it has been of my worst choices ever. Waste of money and you won’t be able to get a refund. When you stop your subscription you get the chance to pay 2£ instead of the actual sum a month, which just shows how much it is actually worth it.
