- You can view and transfer images in your camera from your smartphone even when the camera is turned off. *2
- After transferring, you can immediately share your high quality images on social networks or through email.

■ Remote shooting of a camera using a smartphone
- You can capture photos/videos remotely while checking the live view of a camera on a smartphone. *3
This is convenient for capturing night views or water flowing scenes which need long-exposure, or macro shooting in which you need to avoid to directly touch the camera.
*3 Models that support PlayMemories Camera Apps can use this feature by installing "Smart Remote Control" (in-camera app) on your camera in advance.

■ Record location information
- With cameras that have a location information linkage function, the location information acquired by the smartphone can be added to the captured image in your camera.

Can’t sign in

KennyBoyEIRE on

App works. Can use it with a7iii for selfies and remote triggering. But turn off bt on iPhone. Transfers pics fast but only JPEG’s. Need usbc to transfer raw to iPad. But works. Only thing is I can’t sign into my Sony account in the IEM app as I used “sign in with google” via chrome to setup account. They don’t talk to each other in the iPhone app. So I can’t sign in. But not needed to work the app. Same functionality on iPhone and iPad. Pw reset not working either. I guess because google is managing access.

Used to work but not anymore?

get.awaycar on

Used this app all the time for years, and suddenly stopped working when I switched from an iPhone X to 14Pro. Tried updating (camera software & iOS), re-downloading the app etc but nothing seems to work. Weirdly enough my friend has the same phone & app but her app interface is completely different (we both downloaded it from the same region app store) - her app works completely fine even with my camera. Not sure what’s went wrong and Sony support have been totally useless in finding a solution.

Does It Work? Seems To.

Anubis045 on

I’ve had this app on my small and large tablets for years, and although image transfer to tablet is not often part of my photography enthusiast workflow, on the occasions that I’ve wanted to use the App, it has worked every time. Transferring all my days shots from my Sony cameras quickly and without issue, (once I link to the app using the camera’s inbuilt transfer function). So with respect to all the negative reviewers indicating it does not work, this can’t be the “Whole picture” (pun intended).

I can’t focus using my a7iii

AlbertoCanizares on

Using my a6500 I used to just tap on the phone to focus. Doesn’t do anything with my a7iii

Bring back touch to focus feature from Playmemories app

Hoangen on

It’s so disappointed when I upgraded the app from Playmemories to Imaging Edge. The new app lost many features, one of them is touch to focus. It’s a downgrade.
