Almost justifies not buying Sony cameras
I buy a lot of Sony cameras for broadcast. Their cinema line is outstanding and the A7 series was a serious solution before the others were anywhere in mirrorless. But my old Canon apps were solid, stayed connected, had a focus trigger button and could display just-taken shots for camera assistants, just like professional kit. Sony software has never been good enough to trust on a real job. Such a let down to an otherwise great product.
Does not work
Very poor from a corporate giant like Sony! Very frustrating as it stopped working since the update. Didn't work previously too may be 1 out of 5 attempts! Very frustrating n very poor. Please sort it out
Connection always drops at the first attempt.
Never connects to the camera with the first attempt. Drops connection after first image down loaded. 2 nd attempt can then download the images. Same problem with A6400 and x100 mark 6. Long standing problem. Any chance of a fix Sony.
A poorly designed app
Connected to my a6000, I have no control over camera function other than zoom, exposure compensation and self-timer. What about aperture, colour balance, auto exposure compensation and all the other settings that can be adjusted on the camera? I use aperture priority to get the best out of the camera, but this app lacks the features needed. Not worth having!!!! I would give this app zero stars if that were possible
Useless
Sony continues its long tradition of publishing useless camera apps, does not work or occasionally works very frustrating
Clunky, dated, unreliable, over engineered and don’t have user insights
Been using this app since 2016, it worked fine in old days.
But now it is 2024
The UX still haven’t update a bit, disconnect easily, downloaded photos didn’t go to album (I am using iPhone)
And it disconnect easily with the camera
I can’t tell a single bit the app is user friendly.
Too much pain points, I would recommend Sony invest more on the mobile to camera integration as this future is here.
As usual as a lighthouse in a desert
I don’t understand how Sony can make such amazing cameras and have such rubbish software and software support. I was trying to use this app a photo shoot, and it was crashing, constantly unresponsive and just spams you with offers. is it possible for Sony to create a tool or companion for their alpha series camera that actually is stable and functional
Shame on you sony
What a degrading ridiculous app. Struggling to sing in for 10times. Every time I exit the app to get 2FA code The whole sign in window disappears and starts from the beginning. Then 2FA expires. Just do all of us a favor and pull down this app. Stop developing app in the future as well
Sony’s best??
It’s unbelievable that an app this bad was allowed by Sony to be released.
It’s frustrating to use when it works, but mostly it doesn’t.
Does not work with iOS 17 despite latest update saying it does
I get an error message whenever I try to connect my camera to transfer photos to my mobile device. I have spoken to Sony has advised me that the IEM app is not compatible with iOS 17 but the app shows that it is.
