This app is a total scam and takes more money than they advertise. Then the support team will do everything except support you. They are deleying giving me a refund and I doubt they will even give me a refund in the end
I accidently selected meal plan and another option with a click of a botton. I did not see price for those extra options and I was charged immedietly after hitting one button. I recived a sms from my bank while I was browsing the App from MadMuscles. I was never asked for confirmation of the selection I made. I contacted the company and told them that I made a mistake few minutes after this happend and the response I got was: Hello, My name is Elizabeth from Billing Support Department. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process. I have dedicated considerable time and effort into thoroughly reviewing your case. Regarding your refund request, we have specific rules and policies in place that guide our decision-making. Unfortunately, your situation does not meet the criteria for an approved refund.
I should have done more research before getting into this app. I bought into the promotional $15.19 (PayPal) 4-week exercise plan just yesterday. Turns out this is a monthly subscription that is automatically set up thru PayPal to do automatic monthly payments. During set up of your account, it directs you toward getting a personal trainer. The app doesn’t inform that this is an additional upcharge. I didn’t want the personal trainer and tried to bypass the personal trainer options. I was immediately charged via PayPal automatically, an additional $49.95. I contacted Mad Muscles and a quick reply from Stella showed a link on how to cancel the recurring monthly PayPal payments (which is difficult by the way). But now trying to get the $49.95 returned, I’ve been ignored. I deleted my account on the app and don’t trust using it as I’m sure there are other hidden upcharges that you don’t know about until after it is already paid via PayPal. I cannot speak to the value of the app content as I won’t use it now. Of course PayPal is no help, almost criminal in facilitating this type of scam. Mad Muscles is based in Cypress (not in the USA) so good luck with getting a refund. So as of right now, a day after getting this app, I am saying it’s a scam. I will update this review if I do in fact receive a refund.
Presented one price pointed but charged another. Cancellation process is difficult to process and navigate. (App says to cancel via app subscription, but you actually have to go to their website to cancel)
Tough to do especially when I thought I was signing up for the chair exercises.
I saw their ad in instagram and started filling everything: when they asked me to start paying I went ahead and chose one subscription. But then a minute later I get 3 notifications from my bank that they just took money for three subscriptions and not one. Then when I went to get support they keep sending me to a website and there is nothing to connect me to an agent in that website. So I don’t recommend it because it is a scam. I definitely would have put zero stars if I could.
I can see where consistency with this will help tremendously.
I regretfully bought this app before fully researching. I was looking for a program to guide my weightlifting. The suggested program is nothing but calisthenics. Buyer beware. They do not let you cancel if you are not pleased with the app or offer refunds. They do offer a 30 money back guarantee, but if you read the fine print it will take an act of congress for them to “approve” it.
Beware of this app. Mediocre work outs, nothing really to offer. They offering small add ons and don’t notify you that you’ll be charged for them. When trying to get a refund, nothing falls within their refund policy so they’re just a bunch of thieves. Going on a daily walk will yield better results mentally and physically.
