great but at what cost
This is easily the most accessible and popular book sorter out there. I’ve trialed and test many and none have competed with goodreads in terms of navigation and handiness.
Whilst other apps offer more of the fun bits like pie charts, yearly wrap ups and half-star ratings- they are extremely hard to get used to and not user-friendly in the slightest. I also find their communication features to be years behind goodreads.
Whilst goodreads is easy to use and offers customisable shelves, it can be extremely laggy and where are the half-star ratings consumers have been asking for, for years?
The community you feel and can gain on goodreads is not replicable on another app. It is very user-friendly and is where you’ll find the most readers gravitating towards. Many people who trial other apps come back to goodreads after a short while.
I do wish goodreads listened more to their consumers as it does have the display of being in the early 00s. Half-star ratings and yearly wrap ups would easily cut off any competition.
Great App for Ideas and Motivation
I really enjoy this app – great for organising books, getting ideas and motivating me to read more. The app could do with some minor software improvements, but overall really useful and enjoyable.!

lots of glitches and slow at times, but a great way for me to keep track of books that i have and want to read, as well as finding new books that intrigue me. wish there was a way to include page numbers in the descriptions though!
Crashes while composing reviews
The app is handy for the basic functions of browsing and shelving conveniently, but it has crashed (closed) on me multiple times while typing reviews (losing all my text) so be advised to use the website version for composing reviews!
Great App
I started using this app during lockdown 2020 and I’ve been addicted to it since. Great to keep tracks of the books I’ve read and finding new novels for the future.
To add books manually
Please return back option to users to add books manually, I was trying to follow instruction, joined the group with 4? "Librarians" where you need create a topic with details of your book but it's so messy and confusing. Millions of topics, no clarity how to do it.
Please return option to add books manually otherwise I will need to consider using of another books app.
love it but with some room for improvement
The user interface on the app has come a looong way. Still needs adjustments in notifications for interactions in other people’s reviews like if I comment someone else’s review and they answer me I never know when this happens.
Another thing it needs is the ability to DNF and let it put on a shelf for that and to put it on a shelf to read but with a specified title. Everytime I shelf something it appears on my read list.

You can never have TOO MUCH love
Tom Allen is correct you can never have too much love and he’s my hero. This book is a humorous and loving reflection on grief.
I’m a huge fan already so this review is biased but you can shove it if you don’t like it! 🤣
I didn’t think I could enjoy this audiobook as much as his last, but I did. Now this may be partly due to losing my Mam and having buried her in recent days, or that my Dad has one foot in the grave as I type this, or that I had come to love Tom’s family from his first book & was sad to hear of his lovely Dad’s passing, or the fact that Tom Allen is one of those people who shares his life honestly and in a very endearing way all the while putting a smile on my face. I didn’t think I could manage it being so soon after my bereavement but I couldn’t stop listening. I thank him for the laughs, the tenderness, the love he shared with us in this book. It honestly equipped me to deal with my grief in a profound way. My Mam would have approved and she’d have been laughing along with me listening.

I wish Goodreads would allow ratings such as 3.5 etc.
It would be more finely tuned to readers opinion by giving a range of 10 points instead of 5.
