Needs Dark Mode

jinglejanglemorning on

United States

This app has been around for over a decade, and there’s still no dark mode? Please.

I love this app… but

Mayahernandezurmom on

I miss the old version of the reading challenges, I liked seeing if I was on track for my reading goal this beta version doesn’t do that. This app is soooo good and I’ve had it for years and the old reading challenge looked better. I do like the achievements idea I just miss being able to see all the books I’ve read and whether or not I’m on track to reach my goal.

GoodReads Needs a Major Update

daxx2012 on

United States

I have been using GoodReads to track my reading and find new books for over 10 years. In those 10 years the app has changed very little, if at all. It’s time for GoodReads to have a major update. Allowing users to rate books with half stars would be a good starting point! GoodReads feels so outdated.

I need HALF STARS & a DNF category

Beth1212! on

United States

This app is the most used book app, why are we still unable to leave half star reviews or categorize a book as a DNF?? This can’t be too much to ask!! Please please, help me out and add these two things! Sincerely, An Avid Reader

Amazon ruining the app

kt8190 on

United States

Goodreads always seemed a little dated (eg. not being able to rate using half stars/.25/.75) and now they finally give us an update and it ruins one of the only good things, the reading challenge. You can no longer see your friend’s challenges on one page or even know how many books you’ve fallen behind. They’re pushing pointless “challenges” that add nothing towards your own goals or interests but just pushing what Amazon wants you to read. Sad since I love Goodreads, but will be moving to StoryGraph since it’s obvious GR does not care about the consumer.

Great resource, but very clunky

Lovely, still needs work on

United States

I love Goodreads and it is very much one of a kind, but the app needs some improvements. I get a lot of error messages and despite following the prompts to remedy the errors, they remain.

Love it but could be so much better

Tazzi14 on

United States

I love that this app is synced with my kindle, but would love more stats about my reading (genres, pages read, words, etc.) there recommendation feature could also be improved

App feels SO outdated

Sad GoodReads User on

United States

I love Goodreads, but the app is in desperate need of an update and some simple new features. We need half-star ratings, the ability to reply to comments and tag other users, and a better way to format reviews. Look to Letterboxd for inspiration! Also, GoodReads annual year in books could provide so much more interesting, creative data, like Spotify Wrapped. Please GoodReads, give the people what we want!

Reading Challenges beta, not a fan

codenamepoptart on

United States

Really a 3.5 but it would’ve been a 4.5 even a 5 until recently. I am not a fan of this new reading challenges (beta) update for two reasons. 1: I don’t care to collect badges for specific books I read, that’s not a draw. And it’s annoying that it’s the main part of the challenge page instead of my actual reading goal. 2: I can no longer see my friends’ reading challenge progress. I was able to find them accidentally but that was a major part of what I liked about Goodreads and it’s so disappointing that the feature is either gone or ridiculously difficult to access.

Great

OnlyAlaskanR on

United States

Love this app but I wish there was a way to make a note about books - especially about who recommended it to me.
