Essential Reading/Listening

I’ve read a book this month that is meant to contribute towards the Buzzy Books challenge, but it won’t let me unlock the achievement. I’ve double checked the finished date to see it’s not wrong and it still won’t unlock. Not sure what’s wrong, but until it’s fixed I can’t participate in the challenges.

I love Goodreads i’ve been using it for years to log what i’m reading but the new update for the 2025 reading challenge is really ugly and confusing to use, last year (2024) it had a lot simpler of a layout and was very straightforward but now shows a bunch of achievements collected and is just inconvenient. please please change it back to how it was previously PLEASE I BEG!!!!

I have used Goodreads for more than 12 years now and have enjoyed it and never had a problem with the updates until now. I can’t stand the new reading challenge layout. Why would you make these changes to something that was perfectly fine before? The layout changing from a grid to a list is so unwieldy and annoying to use. I miss seeing my friends’ challenges which was an enjoyable social aspect to the platform. I am also annoyed that all these new ‘challenges’ have appeared on the page and I don’t seem to be able to opt in or opt out. I would rather select challenges I’m interested in and then participate in them. Please give us the option of the old user interface back for challenges. I really hate it and I don’t understand why you would move away from something that was working fine and was nice to use, to something so unfriendly to users and so limited in its features.

The only thing I’m upset about is that the Goodreads challenge no longer says the percentage finished and how many days you are behind/ahead. Makes the challenge a lot less satisfying! 😔

Hey! I used to really like the feature for the reading challenge where it told you how many books you were behind/ahead of meeting your goal. Now it just says whether you’re on track or not, which is a lot less info. Can you bring back the old feature please? I miss it :(

Used to love this app! Loved tracking my reading goal and the app telling me if I was behind, on track or ahead of my goal. Also used to love seeing my friends reading goals. Both of these positives have been removed. The app is less interactive with friends and now has weird challenges that I am not interested in completing but can’t remove. I think I might need to change apps. Incredibly disappointed

Such a great Aussie tail set in the late ‘70s-early ‘80s. Loved the story and the memories it evoked. The songs of that era woven through the story was a great touch!

The app itself is fun to look on but it is incredibly broken in my experience. When I first downloaded the app, it wouldn't let me make an account for like 2 months because it kept saying “error occured”. Then when I finally managed to make an account I tried adding books to my folders and it just kept saying “error occurred”. The app randomly added a book to one of my folders that I didn't even add, and when I tried to remove it the same message appeared AGAIN “error occured”.

So fun keeping track of my reading and seeing recommendations. Have read 22 books in 4 months and find it so satisfying logging it on here!
