This app fishy, it tell you is free charge but when you add you credit information there small box checked with very small written monthly fee . This is has to illegal because the box not supposed to be checked when I put my credit information because the box has to be empty and part of the customer check the box as signed and is authorized by the customer so not supposed to be checked and very tiny word for the monthly charge. Scammer

The changes to the reading challenge is not an improvement. I can no longer see my friends challenges or progress. How can I encourage them or see what they’ve read if I can’t see the challenge. How can I motivate myself against my friends when I can’t see their challenge. This update was an unimprovement.

I got into a bad reading slump for a few years and deleted the app. After downloading it again, I realized it has hardly changed at all in 9 years. There’s still so many bugs as well, can’t comment on my reviews without the app crashing and other little things like that. It says I follow some authors when I go on their profiles, but they won’t show up on a following list. I just don’t understand why they haven’t added these features yet. Plus I know it tells you your history with a book if you re read it, but there still should be a whole re-read button, cause it moves the book in your read list. You should be able to repeat it. All problems I had with the app years ago and they’re still there. Idk I just wish they’d have made it more accessible by now.

Why can’t we see our friends reading challenges and progress anymore! Also, bring back our progress descriptors (i.e. ‘two books behind schedule)

App consistently refuses to open, making it effectively unusable

With the newest update, I can no longer see my friends challenges. It was encouraging to see everyone progressing in their goals. Will be looking for a different app if this continues

I feel like Goodreads doesn’t listen to us. This app is in desperate need of an update. There are so many features that exist on other book apps that Goodreads doesn’t have but could easily implement. 1 - cleaner, more colourful design. The current design feels so dated. Simple is fine, but the beige is really unpleasant compared to apps like Fable where it’s full of colour. 2 - marking spoilers. I can only mark portions of my reviews as spoilers when using the app. Then when I go to view my review on the app, if I did mark portions of it as spoilers, it’s not shown on the app. 3 - preferences for sharing. I wish I could adjust my settings so that my friends aren’t notified when I like reviews. I’ve sometimes liked a review and didn’t realize my friends would see, which spoiled a book for her. 4 - filter Canadian giveaways. So many giveaways are open to the US only. That’s fine, but please have a feature to allow us to filter out the Canadian ones so we can easily enter giveaways that we are actually eligible for. 5 - recommend me books I HAVEN’T read. The majority of my Goodreads recommendations are books I’ve already read. Can we integrate some AI or something to help me find books I would like and haven’t already read? Goodreads already has access to all the data of books I’ve already read, so there should be no reason to recommend the same ones. 6 - add streaks/reading calendar. On other apps, you can see the books you’ve read visually: in a calendar by day AND month. This would be a great feature to include. 7 - Allow us to reply to comments. If I comment on my friend’s post, she should be able to directly respond to me. As it currently stands, you can’t do that so friends don’t get notified when their friends respond to them.

I hate the new reading challenge layout and changes. I also hate that I can’t see my friends challenges anymore. WHY DID YOU CHANGE IT???

Love being able to keep up with my reading goals and being able to see what my friends are reading is sweet! Solid app!

Out of the blue the app requested me to login even though I was already. After that, it just kicked me out and I lost access to EVERYTHING, all my lists, my reviews, my friends. I am trying to reset my password through the app and browser, but nothing happens Goodreads it’s a total blank. Really depressing. :( Can someone please save me???
