Absolutely a Nightmare

Allen conner on

I got Talkspace via a recommendation from one of my friends who uses it because our insurance company was suppose to cover it. After getting matched with the most useless therapist I’ve ever met in my whole life and several unsuccessful attempts to be matched with a new one, I decided to cancel my plan. After which, the co-pay that was suppose to be NOTHING started being pulled out of my account. It was only ten dollars, so while I was annoyed, I figured it was whatever and moved on, figuring I’d pay for the two useless sessions I had and move on. Unfortunately, I had some issues with my card and had to change payment methods. So, for the last MONTH I’ve been getting emails saying that my payment keeps failing despite the fact that I’ve updated my card information three times. Ive been in touch with the ONLY method of customer support which is EMAIL and not at all effective, because all I’ve been told in the month that this has been going on is “I’ve forwarded your problem to the right people and we’ll get it looked at” while I continue to receive stressful payment failed emails. This whole thing is a nightmare for only ten dollars and I wish I had never even tried Talkspace to begin with.

Lack of continuity and misrepresented service

Belleniente on

I was stressed about moving across country and downloaded the app to get three sessions on Talkspace through my employer. I had one live session and then my therapist got promoted to manage other therapists and I had to get rematched to a new provider. This new provider then informed me that she wasn’t licensed in the state I was moving to. So in three sessions I have to restart with three new providers... This is a terrible user experience caused in large part to Talkspace’s explosive growth as a tech platform rather than a service provider focused first on doing no harm. They make “virtual” sound frictionless, when actually there are licensure requirements and laws they have to follow, but don’t plan for. I feel WORSE having tried to get help and instead getting dropped twice.

This online therapy experience is not working for everyone

Doodeka on

The therapist that I chose was good but not satisfied. It was so hard for me to open up to someone…I’ve been looking for a good therapist for ages but due to my financial situation and lack of insurance I decided to try online emotional support. My therapist had a 18 years of experience and all reviews were positive, she seemed like a perfect match for me, but after a shared all my past we didn’t go over any problems and jumped right to my self value and worth when I clearly don’t know what it is and how I can do that. Overall, spend $360 on nothing when I could probably go to one real therapy session and get an immediate help. Also, 30 minutes of video call is clearly not enough… felt like we both stressed out to finish conversation faster. It tells you that you can chat with your therapist Monday-Friday but after our 1st phone call she never asked me how I am doing or what I should be focusing on. I had so many questions for her and none of them were answered. Really upsetting. Once again, my therapist was really sweet and a really nice person, I really wish it would worked out. Maybe it’s my fault but as a person who’s working with people who had severe traumas they should know that those people are hard to reach out first. Really hope this app will have at least a week of trial because I feel really bad for spending so much money for nothing. The only one thing that my therapist recommended me is to read a book called “The body keeps the score” by Bessel Van Der Kolk. So if you’re like me and don’t know where to start from this book will be a great start. Plus, as a nutritionist, highly recommend add to your diet Lithium and Vitamin D, Fish oil (+addition to women “Iodine”, “Iron”) to stop depression symptoms. Wish you all the best guys ❤️

Corrected issue

Dev_dh1 on

I attempted to login and creat a account. I managed to get to the point of my card being charged and attempting to login…. And it would not allow me to loving. Something went wrong error message and still no assistance. They recently corrected the payment but I still can’t loggi in. I increased my review for that.

Just okay

JPTX13 on

The therapy is fine. Even good sometimes. But twice I have had therapists ghost me. No response to messages. No confirmation of sessions. Just vanished. The so called help area is no help. It takes multiple messages to get a response. They don’t seem to have any communication with the providers so they can’t tell you what’s going on when a therapist ghosts you. Getting your records is also nearly impossible. Overall, the platform needs to do major improvements in the customer service area.

Non-functional app. Audio is terrible and user interface won’t allow basic navigation

Fiskfjejd on

Audio and video quality is unacceptable. I had a solid internet connection and the video and audio were constantly dropping out. Therapy is all about personal interaction and my session was ruined by this flaky app. The therapist indicated that this is common and that Talkspace is not responsive to feedback. I feel worse now than when I started. Thanks Talkspace. /S

Texting Therapist charged me $400. Talkspace won’t help

jonnyclink on

If I could give 0 stars I would. Was told repeatedly I would owe $0 and was matched with a therapist who texted on her phone the entire time. Now I’m being charged over $400 and Talkspace is doing nothing to fix it. Predatory service. Avoid at all costs!

Entry flow

djh144 on

In the entry flow, please allow an opportunity to change session time and date before identifying a provider. It’s extremely frustrating to be unable to move backwards if you select the wrong item.

Availability

Phunkpoet on

I love the app and have used it on and off for various issues over the last couple of years. The buggiest issue I have is availability. I have a very tight schedule with work, my son, and other responsibilities. It’d be extremely helpful if I could put in MY availability or preferences for it when searching for providers. Overall I love the app, how easy it is to change a provider when I feel they aren’t a good match, as well as the fact that despite not every provider being a good match, they have ALL given me some big take away to work with.

Wonderful service

Punta2023 on

This service has helped me so much! My therapist knows just how to help me. I feel so much better
