I loved the book. But not the audible. The voice actors for emery and especially ford weren’t my cup of tea. Each sentence by the voice actor for ford was soooo slowly drawn out.

A must listen
I absolutely love the narrator. This was definitely an easy listen (although I listen on 1.75x so I’m sure it sounds a bit different to me than it does others, but my brain reads that fast and this speed makes me feel as if I myself am reading the words) I’m from the US but I love listening to audiobooks narrated by UK based narrators. The accents keep me entwined. As far as the book goes, the pacing was PERFECT and the twists and turns of the book kept me hooked from start to finish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can’t turn off syncing between devices!
This is ridiculous, I have sync between devices turned off but it still does it and keeps resuming it from whatever stupid checkpoint it has saved. I NEVER want the book to resume from ANY point other than the one at which I paused it ON THIS DEVICE. I’d pay good money just to have the cross-device syncing completely removed.

Doesn’t Get Any Worse
This was the worst book I ever read. There is nothing redeeming about the book. Normalizing sex work in a young single mother is a pathetic plot, but having the woman’s father encourage and support her sex work is beyond pathological. The book is complete trash.
Worst Narrator
I laid for this book and couldn’t make it past the first chapter listening to the narrator. I loved the book but had to read it instead because this narrator could not catch my attention

A well-told historical yarn, so well-researched, it’s difficult to know where history ends and the fiction begins. Excellent reading.
Life Changing!
Being that I started with her recent book worthy, which has blown the socks off of everybody, I wasn’t quite sure this book would have the same effect. I was wrong! I learned so much more about the details of her story, and feel so much more connected and related to her. The stories, insights and lessons were absolutely amazing! Please read this book and if you haven’t read, were the read that one too!
