Lack of transparency for the scheduled flight
My flight to IAD was cancelled but I got a lot of hassle before the cancellation was announced. We waited for more than 1 hour at the gate before we realized the flight was cancelled. At first, we were made to board the plane. All the passengers boarded when we were told by the cockpit that we need to disembark the aircraft because the mechanic will fix the plane and they don’t want us to wait long during the maintenance activity. They said it will take approximately 1 hr. While we waited at the gate more than hr, we notice some passengers are already leaving and we heard an announcement that we may withdraw our check in bags at the carousel. They (employees) also said that they will accommodate the remaining passengers to the next available aircraft without any assurance what time will that be. That’s when my family and I decided to rebook the flight the next day but there were already limited seats for my next flight. Due to limited seats in the next flight, my family and I have to travel in different time schedules. We will be waiting each other at the destination airport (IAD) for a difference of 4 hours. The hassle was aggravated by my cancellation of my several appointments in Virginia. Those appointments can never be undone!
