changed the device, the verification process restarts over and over again, customer service is keeping sending the same steps to follow that I had flagged as not working. Absurdity level hard. Finally when I asked them to close the account they ask me to export some files but they seem to ignore numerous messages that I cannot access the account 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Absolute disgrace of a banking system. First comes with too many charges that aren’t mentioned anywhere at the time of the sign up. Then their support takes 4 months to answer on a request and leaves you with only few days to respond back. Face verification system isn’t a face verification system as I’m still the same person trying to log in from a different device, but not being successful to pass my own face verification. Agents ignoring this topic when asked how can this be possible. Very inconvenient. Happily closing the account and never reopening it again.
You can’t finish your signing up for free, have to pay to “fix” the problem, uninstalled!
I’ve been using bunq for a month now and have tested out nearly all the features. I will give an honest review, both the positives and negatives. POSITIVES: - It is really quick and easy to set up. - Ordering a card is 100% FREE. - You get a free trial for a month and can switch between plans to test them all out so you know what one suits you best when your free trial ends. - Bunq is very secure and safe, money is insured. - You can have multiple bank accounts (Ibans), this is really useful for sorting currency’s or to have a local Iban for another country. - The saving interest rate (In Ireland currently) is 2.46% which is a good standard. - There is a lot of customisation tools to make the app personal to you which is a great. They have helpful budgeting tools so you can see visually what you are spending your money on. - They recently added a new feature where you can check the currency exchange rate of other countries, check what plugs (sockets) they use, check if tipping is expected and what percentage you should tip. They also advise how much cash you should withdraw when visiting that country. - You can store all your loyalty cards on the app for quick access to them. - They have an Ai Bot called Finn which is really helpful and can answer any question. - The human customer support is also really helpful, any issues I’ve had have been resolved almost immediately by them. - They help the world by planting trees for you for free when you use the app, spend money and engage with fun features like the wheel of fortune. - They give FREE travel insurance as a benefit if you use their premium plan. NEGATIVES: - It’s not free, there is a free plan but to make the most of the app you want a paid plan, its monthly subscription and there is different plans and prices to choose from to best suit your budget and needs. - One thing I noticed is that the physical card quality is not the best, all the functions of the card work exceptionally well but I just find the physical card to feel flimsy, it also picks up scratches easily and the printing quality of the name and numbers on the back isn’t the best compare to other cards I’ve had. This is a very minor flaw though and doesn’t affect the quality of the actual service in any way. I would hope they would bring back metal cards which they had before but discontinued them. - Although the customer support agents are really helpful.. they can take a while to reply, I found on average around 4-7 days. 5 minutes to 1 hour and now a day. Keep coming back looking for more identification. Support seems to be nothing more than an AI bot, not trusting this awful service with my savings.
I was unable to complete the onboarding process. I contacted them 5+ times, but they never replied. It appears customer service is nonexistent.
Sure, you get a free savings account with a superb interest rate. But that is about it - you get offered a physical card… €9.99 for that, but then you can only use said card in the “Easy Banking” plan, which costs €3.99 now per month. Want easy budgeting? Well, that is only from the €9.99 plan onwards… Anything useful is hidden behind yet another pricier plan. I rather pay one plan in Revolut and have everything in one app, especially customer service that actually replies the same day, not just takes 48hrs to say they forwarded the issue, never to be seen again.
Great banking app but slow customer response. Log a issue over a week ago but no reply yet.
