The app is useful in general and allows you to use a mobile version of the rail europe pass. This is great, but where it falls apart is that sometimes it will just lose your ticket barcode and the journeys attached for the day. Usually this happens right as the ticket inspector arrives. I have found the best way to get around this is to go to your journeys and unselect the train you’re on and then re-select it. This action seems to re-generate the ticket barcode.

How many ways are there to say that eurail should be ashamed of this app.

REALLY unnerving to be on a train and have the app simply lose your ticket ….. repeated opening and closing has worked so far but the experience has left me super stressed.

This app does not give you any kind of real time updates. If trains get cancelled or delayed you will not know if you will miss your connecting train. It will not give you what platform or train# you need to be on. This means you have to check the giant rail map and find your train and platform which could mean missing a connection. Download the DB app for realtime accurate info. As a planning tool and to store your ticket this app is junk.

Extremely disappointed in the Eurorail service. My partner and I put our trust and money into this app with belief that it will make travelling UK&Europe much easier. To our dismay, we were turned away at our first train check-in after the app that we were told we had to download in order to travel mislead us to believe we didn’t need seat reservations for our train. Not only did we miss our train we added to our journey, Eurorail company refused to compensate our “used day” that we weren’t even allowed to use through the rail company. We are now out $800CAD, and had to pay an additional $800 for a train ticket to get to our next destination which had no eurail seats available for the coming few days. If you bought Eurorail tickets and download this app, be cautious that the “no reservations” filter which lists trains that you don’t need seat reservations for is completely unreliable and I wouldn’t trust it again. So sad I have to write such a disappointing review as an avid backpacker and lover of travel. I trusted this service and they did more of a disservice if anything. Good luck with your tickets and the “service” this app says it provides.

The app is terrible. It just deletes your travel plans sometimes and then you have to re add them all over again, then they randomly reappear and you have duplicates. When you want to show a ticket at the station, the app glitches and the tickets don’t appear which could cost you. To survive you have to screenshot and print your tickets because the app is so unreliable.

Somehow always surprises me at how bad it is. The day I was meant to leave on my first train, all my tickets disappeared! I had to re-add my whole trip onto the app.

Absolute waste of time and money. My trip is more than a month out, everything is mysteriously booked after I’ve already added it to my cart with no issues, and when I looked for a pass refund it seems to be impossible. Every link and info page about refunds takes you to a dead end. I’ve never been so frustrated in my life. How do they not have a single person I can email or who can email me back?? I’ve literally just been scammed out of $400 with no one to talk to to help me. Don’t buy anything from them.

I would give zero stars if I could. This app is worse than being user unfriendly. I bought a ticket for Strasbourg to Florence (includes 3 transfers). When you book through the app it warns you that seat reservations are required for some of these connections. You are instructed to buy the reservations through their website as you can’t do it through the app(!). I found my train on their website and bought the necessary seat reservations indicated. Upon closer inspection, my seats are reserved on the same route, same day, but not the same times those connection are listed on my ticket. The app gives you electronic tickets in the app. The seat reservations come via email, but have to be printed out! Easy at home, hard on the road. Eurorail is impossible to get a hold of to complain. Their chat bot openly states that it can’t understand complex questions. You can’t even contact them through Facebook. There’s no phone number, etc. This is beyond a headache. Don’t just forget about the app, skip Eurorail altogether. I can’t believe this company hasn’t gone under. Terrible, just terrible!

I am highly disappointed with this app. It was a waste of time and money. It’s not a ticket, it’s not valid for travelling from one place to another. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
