Starting to get too buggy

I’ve been using this app for many years already and I really enjoyed using it. However, recently more and more bugs have been occurring. When I try adding food the screen will just load endlessly and not add the item. The function to add all the food, which I’ve tracked the previous day and want to track again the next day as a whole doesn’t work smoothly anymore either. So, I end up closing and opening the app several times, before it will let me track any food. Please fix this.

but recently I haven’t been able to open it up. Whenever I click the app icon it just constantly loads and doesn’t take me to the main dashboard. Could you please fix this? I’ve also tried restarting my phone but it doesn’t change anything.

The UI is incredible and it’s easy to use, but even as a premium user I still find myself wishing that making a new food would not be defaulted to 100g (nutritional serving) when you first use it because most of the food here in Japan isn’t written as such: what’s written is the actual grams when you consume the whole thing. This causes me additional steps to calculate the whole thing in 100g and it takes away the ease, which results to me just searching for the closest thing - which, isn’t the same. If the app would just calculate how much it is per 100g, that would’ve made my life easier and I would stay. As it stands, I don’t think I’m renewing my account next year.

Lacking basic features

There’s a lot of good with Lifesum. It’s cheaper than some of the other ones (like Noom, which is way too overpriced), it’s got a great database of different food, and it has good recipes and tailors to different goals. But it falls short in other areas. The biggest has to do with water tracking. Every single app that tracks water allows for custom amounts, which makes sense—not everyone exclusively drinks from 250mL cups or 500mL bottles. But Lifesum doesn’t have this option. What’s worse, if you look at Lifesum’s features request page, people have been asking for this option SINCE 2015!! Six years later and they still haven’t added this very simple feature that every other app has. The other annoyance is you can’t count water from sources that aren’t strictly water. In Simple, for example, you can also track coffee, tea, soda, milk, etc, and it will extrapolate how that affects your daily water intake. I drink a lot of tea and coffee, so this is a no-brainer. Finally, I have a Fitbit, not an Apple Watch. And this app is very slow to sync the data, even when I hit the sync button. I often find I have to manually enter the information, which is completely tedious.
