App is quite well laid out but the matter bulbs are extremely unreliable and constantly say they are connected in the app but not responding to commands. Customer service is pretty non-existent, says a few hours when you send a support request but it takes more like weeks for the initial response and more weeks between each follow up. Really regret spending a lot of money on Nanoleaf matter bulbs but I’m stuck now. If you’re thinking about it, find another brand
I’m only giving three stars to these GU 10 bulbs because they keep flipping from thread network to Bluetooth network with No warning and sometimes do not respond even to the Nanoleaf app. Wish they could be updated to be a lot more stable especially across home assistant and Apple Home
As others have said, these lights has massive connection issues, and the app does not help either. Wish I bought some other brand to be frank, these cost way too much for something this unreliable.
Got a MAG RGB lightstrip with my secret labs desk. Unfortunately, despite it being an addressable device, the software to sync your monitors colours to the light is so poor, you have to sync a solid colour, and you cannot determine from which area of the screen that colour is calculated from. Just terrible. Hue is 1000 times better at this.
Nanoleaf should take a good look at both the Apple Home App and The Philips Hue App. Both look and function much more nicely. ;)
God awful app for a brilliant product
As of version 10.6.2 the app will randomly close sometimes after a few seconds after being opened. The status of lights don’t sync with the state in Apple’s Home app e.g. if I turn lights on using the Home app and then go into the Nanoleaf app, the lights in the Nanoleaf app show as off, in fact sometimes when I turn lights on within the Nanoleaf app using scenes, the power ‘button’ stays as ‘off’, so even the Nanoleaf app doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing. If it was a person it would be being moved into a care home 😂😂.
After updating to latest version can no longer check for firmware updates. Also cannot contact technical support because you can’t complete the submit ticket page. All on iPad Pro.
Tried everything, the Device appears on pair I press the green button scan the code the light blink green but it is stuck on connecting to accessory.. then we will either say “unable to connect unknown error” or “unable to connect device unreachable”. I reset my phone hard reset the panels everything and nothing works. So now I have panels on my wall for decoration that don’t work. Brilliant
