Getting worse
This year’s major update really broke the app. Overcast used to be great and now is just mediocre. I put episodes to queue but even that doesn’t work. I would assume it to work like a “play next” feature but no.
Highly recommended
Simply the best podcast player out there.

My absolutely favorite podcast app. I am one of this people who likes the new UI and new version. I also love to support small dev and I have been using this app long time.
Best podcast app
The killer feature is of course the advanced audio processing that makes podcasts sound better than with other apps. In addition, lots of nice customization options, like per-podcast play speed, auto-categorizing podcasts to playlists (with per-playlist priorities), etc.
Finally, the best podcast client again
Thank you for bringing streaming and the swipe interfaces back. I generally like redesigns and updates, but this time I was missing streaming dearly, since I had slow internet connection in the countryside.
Still a nice app
Generally I am happy with the app and its features. No way for me to switch to any other, anyway. Sometimes though I regret not having some small features that YouTube(!) has in podcasts. If a podcaster doesn’t bother breaking up their mp3 file by chapters, but instead provides timestamps in the shownotes, please, make chapters out of it. This will require 0 UI changes. Second, it would be nice to have on main view a playing “progress” bar with lines showing chapters position. I understand it is a UI effort.
Random skips during play
Here's the corrected version: Since the update, the app has become unusable. Many small unneeded changes but the most infuriating thing is the random skips during playback. Sometimes, it randomly skips 25-30 seconds.

If you love podcasts, get this app
I have used Overcast since it was launched, and it is the best podcast-app out there. The app got a rewrite recently, and I can see it in how fast the app works and how nice the UI is, as well as in the speed bugs are being fixed and functionality added. And as a plus, this is “artisanal” software made by a single developer, not some faceless corporation. Support superior software and indie developers, and get this app!
