Bring streaming back please

It is ridiculous that I need to wait up to 30 seconds to start listening to something once I start the app and see a new episode of my favorite podcast available.

If you love podcasts, get this app

I have used Overcast since it was launched, and it is the best podcast-app out there. The app got a rewrite recently, and I can see it in how fast the app works and how nice the UI is, as well as in the speed bugs are being fixed and functionality added. And as a plus, this is “artisanal” software made by a single developer, not some faceless corporation. Support superior software and indie developers, and get this app!

Solid update - ready for the next decade

While some things have moved around I am happy with the rework of my trusted podcast player. Fast UI and solid playback with the voice boost and skip-pauses-in-speech. Now that I have finally looked around and reconfigured the home screen to my liking it is all good! Ready for the next decade.

The best podcast app for power users

The latest update seems to have fixed the annoying playlist rearrangement bug; everything working fine again! I like configurable playlists and per-podcast settings and LOVE the features like smart speed and voice boost that actually make podcasts sound better! (Note that smart speed might not work with languages other than English – it for sure doesn’t with Finnish)

Overcast just got worse!

The new version is very Apple-like in design language. It hides features like sleep timer behind four taps just to make the interface “cleaner.” Gone are the days of using this app to control your podcast experience on the move, you have to stop to effectively navigate the new and “improved” interface. This version is very, very much worse than what we had before.

Update was not needed

The new update ruined the UI and the app. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Best no-BS podcast player out there

As the title says. The developer cares deeply about things you care about: - ease of use - good design - sound quality - podcasting - privacy And many others, and the app clearly shows that. My favourite features: Smart Speed and Voice Boost! Voice Boost is amazing!
