No other app comes close for ease of use, or great features. The smart speed setting will skip silences and gaps easily, and voice boost means even the most amateur of podcasts are crisp and clear. The only podcast app you will ever need. The new redesign is fab, looking forward to seeing where the app goes over the next few months and years.
This was an incredible app and has been for many years. The volume boost and smart speed being two of the main reasons I loved this app, and also the incredibly quick way to access the sleep timer. Most podcast apps hide that away and require multiple button presses to find and access it. However, this app has just been updated to a completely new design and as part of that it has now ruined what I found to be a brilliant app. Episodes no longer play with one touch, instead opening up a menu that requires an extra touch to play. But, worst of all, all the east to access features I loved - smart speed, volume boost and sleep - have all now been hidden away in a button that requires extra faffing about to access. I hope the app designer reads these reviews because I adored your app, but now it’s gone down the list and I won’t be using it while it’s just the same as other ones that I find have better overall features. Please either take it back to the simplistic design we had before that was a stalwart for years, or please bring back the ease of functionality.

Excellent interface, tons of useful features like smart speed and voice boost, easy to use. My default podcast player.
Used overcast for years. Switched to Spotify for consolidation. Then switched back and paid for premium. Overcast has better features and is more stable. Also better to keep pods separate from music.
Edit: The app is no longer a battery killer. This is now my go to podcast player. Original review: This app is awesome except it kills my battery. I am not sure if it’s refreshing podcasts too often (no option to change this), or if it’s another feature causing the drain, like increase speed, cutting out silence or voice boost. I cannot use this app in its current state. My battery drains so fast with this app.

This is the best podcast app. Save yourself oodles of time and just grab this and listen!
compared to the bloated and buggy Podcast app made by you-know-who, Overcast is a thousand times better and I wish I'd switched earlier.
Great alternative to the native iPhone podcast app.
