Overcast

Started listening to podcasts on Overcast because the Apple app is SO slow. This is much better 👍😎

I love this app, I've been using it for ages since moving from Apple Podcasts. Unfortunately, it's been recently redesigned and a bunch of frequent actions like moving the episode to be next in the queue or easily getting to the podcast from an episode got much harder to take. From my perspective, the buttons used didn't even get replaced with anything, they simply disappeared. I don't know what I can do about it, but would love for the redesign to be reversed

Subscription jumped from £8.99 to £14.99 (67% increase), so I’ll not be renewing, which is a shame as I’d still like to support the developer. It’s still a 5 star app. Previous: Since the days of Real Player, I have used the majority of podcast players and this one has become my favourite. It’s well designed and simple. The ability to easily set up playlists, the granular control and the audio quality all contribute to the well deserved 5 Stars.

This app used to be the champion of all podcast apps and it pains me to say but since the recent updates it’s buggy and doesn’t work very well. Eg when you press 30second cycle a few times it skips to another podcast, no idea why. I have faith it will get better again but needs some fixes.

This downloads everything. After 1 week of a couple of podcasts, 8Gb gone.

I have been paying the subscription for years but won’t be renewing. Everything was messed up in the last update and it has become painful to use. Sorry 😔

Used overcast for about a year. Overall the player is good but I have just downloaded a new podcast app and stopped using overcast. The main issue is the reason I moved from Apple Podcasts to overcast. The app getting bloated using over 19gb of space to store only 1gb of actual downloaded playable podcasts. Shame really as if it could control/clean its storage usage i wouldn't have moved to a new app.

Easily my most used app which demonstrates how companies like the BBC and Amazon could learn significantly on how important usability is.

Came from Spotify for my podcasts. It’s such a good app, simple as it gets to use, nice and clean interface and all for an incredible price! You’re getting a year for almost the same price of a month of Spotify.

Excellent app for both iPhone and Apple Watch; I love the speed controls and speech enhancement features. Great to be able to select from a list of podcasts from the Apple Watch, then control "remote" playback on the IPhone. Recommended!
