Snappy and modern
The recent refresh makes the app feel super snappy and modern. A significant improvement to the performance of the app :)
Smart Speed saved me 1012 hours(!)
I have used this app for quite a few years, and according to the in app statistics, the Smart Speed has saved me a whopping 1012 hours of listening time! The recent update comes with a lot of goodies, including much higher performance. My nitpick I hope to get fixed, is that downloaded podcasts gets removed from the Current tab as soon as they are completed. In the old version they stayed around for ~24 hours. But still a 5 star from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Regards from Norway 🇳🇴
Storage functionality
The big update made it really problematic to keep the amount of podcasts at bay. I relied a lot on the Episode limit functionality and auto deletion, but now that it’s broken I have to delete manually, frantically making so many clicks, just to make sure storage doesn’t get filled up. It’s very stressful because I normally have only a few Gb left and I have no clue if the app is gonna work or gonna enter a crash loop if the system runs out of storage. Suddenly got myself a Tamagotchi that I have to feed several times a day, but it’s not as fun as it used to be.
Overcast was great. Now not so much
The new redesign of overcast leaves much to be desired. It once was the best app, but the new design is horrible. Now I have to find a new podcast app again. Did not want to shift but dont see any other options considering how much of a shitshow the latest version has become.
Reliable and straight forward
So many of the podcast clients (esp. the ones from big tech) have all kinds of stuff that just get’s in the way. Not Overcast. It’s just a straight forward podcast client that works pretty well! And that makes it my favorite. Don’t get me wrong: it def. has functionality for all kinda of useful stuff, but there aren’t any gimmicks. Just useful stuff. Highly recommended.

The best listening experience has now gotten a very smooth UI. There’s hundreds of podcasts in my library, yet browsing through them is so smooth! One-click play is another feature worth mentioning.
