My experience with Trip.com has been extremely disappointing and honestly one of the worst I’ve had with a travel service. The platform looks convenient at first, but once something goes wrong, there is absolutely no proper customer support. My booking was mishandled, the information provided was inaccurate, and when I tried to fix the issue, I was passed back and forth between agents who offered no real solutions. It was almost impossible to speak to someone who actually understood the problem, and every response felt scripted and unhelpful. What made the situation even more frustrating was that Trip.com refused to take responsibility for their own mistakes. Instead of resolving the issue, they kept asking for the same documents repeatedly, delayed responses for days, and in the end provided no meaningful resolution. It felt like they were hoping I would simply give up. For a company that claims to be a global travel platform, the lack of accountability and customer care is shocking. I will not be using Trip.com again, and I strongly advise others to be cautious before booking through them.
Apprently to extort money so they we can cancel and rebook again or take cancellation charges .
The company confirmed that I would receive a refund after my flight was affected by a natural disaster, yet they later refused to honor their own commitment. I had no choice but to open a dispute with my bank and start a chargeback procedure. The customer service is unresponsive, inconsistent, and shows no accountability. In a situation where people lost their homes and belongings, the company still cannot provide basic support or keep its word. I strongly advise others to be cautious — the lack of transparency and reliability is unacceptable.
I’ve used Trip.com for years and thought they were reliable. This was my first time requesting a refund due to a medical situation, but the experience was shocking — constant excuses, delays, and shifting responsibility to airlines. Two of the three airlines refunded me immediately after I provided a medical certificate, proving Trip.com’s responses were misleading and dishonest. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I have never used this app despite travelling much more than the average person, so I have heard of this app. So I was excited when they had a 11/11 sale thinking it would be an app I might use. But their sale was borderline scam. I tried to buy multiple things without success. And their discounted rate (if you miss the special 11/11 rate) wasn’t really discounted and could be easily achieved on other platforms. Dissapointed
Worse than useless, impossible to book a hotel. I gave it one star only because there’s no zero option.
Happened sometime intermittently in the past but getting more frequently these days. 2 tickets had to be purchased from the airline directly in last 3 weeks for the same flight that trip.com marked as sold out at check out while still available in the airline portal with similar price.
I booked a flight through Trip.com for three passengers but forgot to include my 19-month-old baby. After realizing the mistake, I contacted Trip.com and asked to add him to the booking. They told me they would reach out to the airline and email me once they had an update. The next day, I received an email stating that I would need to pay an additional $165 to add my baby. I was shocked, as I’ve never been charged that much for an infant before. I asked if anything could be done, but they said that this was the amount requested by the airline and that I’d need to pay it in order to include my baby in the booking. I even considered canceling the entire reservation, but the cancellation fees were too high. Thankfully, I decided to call the airline directly — and they informed me that I only needed to pay the applicable taxes for the baby, which would be around $30. That will be my last booking from Trip.com
