Some technically problem while using the app, such as no sound during the lesson.

Why there's is no cancellation for automatic payment?

The app is great but there is one thing that scares learners away from using this app: there's button for cancelling the automatic payment. Since after you have set your credit card as your automatic payment, you cannot cancel such transactions without removing the credit card. The function of placing such a function is to improve the convenience of customers, reducing the amount of time to fill up those information. This is different from helping customers to pay, which would cause a lot of inconvenience as they do not have a choice but to remove their credit cards It seems like preply wants to take away the autonomy of class selection so as to get more money from learners. the only option is to remove the credit cards in the setting.

Unexpected Subscription Fee Charged Without Consent

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Preply, as they charged me a six-month subscription fee without my explicit consent or prior agreement. To my dismay, this charge was implemented without any knowledge or participation on my part in any English lessons or services offered by Preply. I find this business practice to be highly unprofessional and deceptive. As a customer, I believe it is essential to have transparency and clear communication regarding any fees or charges associated with a service. Unfortunately, Preply failed to provide me with the opportunity to make an informed decision before proceeding with such a substantial financial commitment. Moreover, the lack of prior notification or consent greatly impacts my trust in the platform. It is disheartening to encounter a situation where my financial well-being is compromised without any clear justification or explanation. I strongly advise potential users to exercise caution when considering Preply as an option for language learning. It is crucial to thoroughly review their policies and ensure that you fully understand the terms and conditions before engaging with their services. I hope that Preply takes steps to rectify this issue and ensures that future customers are not subjected to such unfortunate experiences. Overall, my encounter with Preply has left me dissatisfied and disappointed. I hope that sharing my experience will serve as a cautionary tale for others and encourage Preply to improve their customer service and billing practices.

Some poor tutor

Some tutors won’t accept child, but it was not mentioned in their profile. It was rejected after paid. It is not the single tutor, it happened for several. Wasting my searching time and Preply do nothing to help or monitor the situation.

No customer service and auto charged

When the payment has any problem , you can’t find anyone to asked. Every four lessons, they charge you automatically. The only way you can do is cancel the school schedule that this is not what I wanted.

Tutors

Almost 5 tutors I tried never showed up to the trial class or the real class for 3 times One of them just said they did not get notification and the other guy is teaching me, a 10 kid at the bar I’m not sure tho but it was a really lound and there where pink lights and music the tutor tries to deny it but my mom reported him I recommend people to read the comments below the tutor as I did just found out.

Delayed messages and cancellation issues

When I am chatting with my teacher using the Preply messager, there is often a delay and I cannot see new messages unless I refresh the page Also I am unable to cancel the lessons I bought- I bought 8 hours and then realised the teacher doesn’t have any availability in my timezone. i already contacted support centre for cancellation. It says someone would contact me but it’s nearly two days and no one contacted me
