Unfair/Scam policy?
I found out an unfair policy for users:
if you pay subscription but didn’t use it before next month (renewal time) It gets expired and no history left. Like if you have 10 classes left but your subscription plan is 2/week and you only got 2 classes, the rest would be gone.
Wow scam or what, you decide! The fact that they have this policy is showing that they are not a good platform
Update: i contact the customer service. The answer is there is no way to track that/ no history even from the customer service side. It got wipe off. They just said that they don’t know they can’t really track. But why can’t they make it more clear/fair. Why there is a big black blind spot that can not track things?
how come there is no history? Why they develop a platform this way?
Tutor don’t know if they get money or not. I don’t get to use what i paid. Who gets the benefit?
Where is credit i bought and paid? Isn't it customers right to use whenever they’re available?
Great classes for my 5 year old boy
My 5 years old son has a great time attending her class… it was fun and interesting that makes him want to attend more classes… she also gives a summary of what’s taught in each lessons

I paid for tutor for 25 mins but Tutor didn’t join the lessons and I tried to contact him so he still quiet and no answer.

This is a very good app, don’t fall for these 1 star reviews.
I have been using this app for a few years now, and it never fails me. You may have read the 1-star reviews and thought: “I won’t be using this app, it sounds bad!”. But before you judge something, you should try it out for yourself. The reason many people are complaining is that they are not able to follow the policy of the app. If you book a lesson, and want to cancel it, you have to cancel 12 hours before, give the teacher some notice (don’t be selfish). You can’t straight up cancel 10 minutes before the lesson and claim this app is scamming you, when you can’t even follow basic rules.
Listen, follow the policy, be considerate, and everything will be easy and simple. It sounds like a challenge, but trust me, you gotta have an open-mind and a willing heart. Thank you for reading, I hope this review was helpful.
False Advertising
The teachers are really good. The platform is quite bad. Misleading advertising. They try to
Force into paid monthly subscriptions, with bizarre loopholes for refunds. I do not recommend.
Good teachers, terrible platform.
It seems to me like Preply found the most dodgy, bare bones, skeleton staff development team to create this app, because it’s UI is unresponsive, slow and buggy as hell.
It doesn’t show notifications like a regular app does, with a red marker on the app to indicate messages. The only way to find out you got a message is to go into your notifications in your iPhone or go into the app, which is just poor design.
It also doesn’t help students access any content whatsoever, and they’ve had YEARS to develop this app. I always have to ask my students to join via a laptop, which is stupid because if you can join via the app, then why should teachers have to encourage students to use a computer? Why build an app for students to connect to teachers and then have teachers tell them to stop using the app and use their computer?? Come on, Preply.
They also take a nice 100% cut from the teachers’ trial lessons (the teacher doesn’t get any money from trial lessons, no matter how good it is, or how hard they work), but it doesn’t get invested in the things that matter, like providing the teacher with tools to respond timeously to student messages.
Currently, it has this annoying bug where the text field will disappear when you start typing a message.
Basically, Preply should fire the dev team that made this app and find a professional, experienced group of developers who can create a specific app for teachers. Yes it will be expensive, but when they take so much money from the teacher and the student, they can bloody well afford it.
Do better Preply, your competitors are way ahead of you technology-wise.
