Description

WHOOP is a wearable that tracks sleep, strain, recovery, stress, and health biometrics 24/7, providing you with personalized coaching based on your goals to help unlock your best performance. WHOOP is screenless, so all of your data lives in the WHOOP app — for a distraction-free focus on your health. The WHOOP app requires a WHOOP wearable.

WHOOP does more than track your activity — it translates your data into clear next steps. WHOOP captures your biometrics 24/7 to calibrate specifically to your body’s unique physiology, then recommending everything from when to go to bed to what behaviors to adopt to help you reach your goals.

Here's how it works:

Sleep: Every night, WHOOP calculates your sleep performance by measuring the sleep you got
compared to the sleep your body needs. You'll wake up to a sleep score from 0 to 100%. Sleep Planner lets you know when you should go to bed to optimize your performance the following day. Now, with the release of WHOOP 4.0, Sleep Planner can also wake you when you've set an exact time, once you've reached your sleep goal, or when you're fully recovered using a quiet, vibrating haptic alarm.

Strain: WHOOP does more than just track your activity – it measures how much physical and mental stress you put on yourself throughout your day to calculate a daily Strain score ranging from 0 to 21. WHOOP measures both your cardiovascular and muscular load, even quantifying the impact of your strength training, to give you the most comprehensive view of the demands you put on your body. Every day, Strain Target will recommend your optimal target exertion range based on your Recovery score to help you maximize your gains without sacrificing your Recovery.

Stress: WHOOP gives you daily insight about your stress, and science-backed techniques to help manage it. Get a real-time stress score from 0-3, and based on your score, choose a breathwork session to either increase your alertness for performance, or increase relaxation in a stressful moment. See your stress trends over time to identify triggers.

Recovery: WHOOP lets you know how ready you are to perform by measuring your heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, and respiratory rate. You'll get a daily Recovery score on a scale of 0 to 100%. When you're in the green, you're ready for strain, when you're in the yellow or red, you may want to evaluate your training program.

Behaviors: Track the impact of over 140 daily habits and behaviors, like alcohol intake, medication, stress, and more, to better understand how these various behaviors help or hurt you.

WHOOP Coach: Ask questions about your health & fitness and get highly personalized, specific-to-you answers on demand. Using your unique biometric data, the latest in performance science, and OpenAI's technology, WHOOP Coach generates responses on everything from training plans to why you’re feeling tired.

What else you can do in the WHOOP app:

• Dig into the details: See a breakdown of your activities by heart rate zone, and even see trends across Sleep, Strain, and Recovery up to 6 months at a time to adjust your behaviors, training, plans and more
• Join a team: Stay motivated and accountable by joining a team. Chat directly with your teammates in the app, or as a coach, see how your team's training is going
• Apple Health: WHOOP integrates with Apple's Health app to sync activities and personalize your experience

Waste of money and rip off

KelsieDunnSmith on

This has been an entirely waste of time and money. Your Apple Watch does more, and now I’m locked in a lengthy agreement I can’t get out off. Customer support is useless. It’s all a joke. Don’t trust them. Stick with your watch.

Customer support is disappointing at best

Hannahspanna on

I tried Whoop and a wearable just isn’t for me. I respect the annual subscription for the service they provide - if you are high performer then this could be a great option. The really disappointing aspect for me was the customer service. I decided not to proceed with the trial and was able to process the cancellation request through the app but then had to wait to receive the return label, which was NOT forthcoming after 4 days (still don’t have it)! Meanwhile this means there is less time to actually get the device back so you are not charged the full price! It is virtually impossible to get onto a human and the response time to the support email is woeful. If you have any problems with your device don’t expect a good turnaround.

It's good but AI coach is woeful

Zy5z on

Whoop is good. It provides useful data, so long as you don't get obsessed with it. However, the AI coach is unbelievably bad. Asking it the most simple questions results in ridiculous, incorrect and stupid answers. It's like chat GPT has been bolted on with no training whatsoever. Really lets the rest of the product down. It's been in beta for a while but hasn't improved at all.

Very bad and unhelpful customer service

JIBurton13 on

It has been 4 weeks since I placed my subscription order and the customer service cannot even tell me if my order has been dispatched or not. In the order status it says it is being processed. Sometimes they take one week to answer your quation. The customer service provides evasive, vague answers and doesn't seem to have access to your order status. They only repeat the same 'happy to assist you' but never provide a clear response. Very unprofessional. It makes you question the entire company, their product and values. I read all over the internet how people have the same experience and frustration when they have to deal with the company. It seems to me the billion dollar company is after your money and profits only and the CEO does not care about you as a customer whatsoever.

Good product bad customer service

Product works well, app as well. Customer service is very slow and they avoid answering requests, they tell you what they want rather than answering your question/request. The ai imbedded is also very limited in responding accurately. Sending back the device, is realy not worth it.

Happy customer

I wasn’t sure if I’d keep paying monthly for a tracker when I first signed up (thanks to Joe and a sober October a few years back), but I’ve never looked back! I’ve literally cancelled gym memberships in favour of keeping my whoop sub when money got tight. It’s my favourite fitness accessory, hands down. Probably cos it tells me all about my favourite person 😆

Amazing tech

Very disappointing customer service

Thorbou on

Hugely disappointed with Whoop customer service. After buying 2x 18 month Whoop memberships + a 1x 12 month membership gift, the Whoop customer service team refused to allow me to take up their Black Friday sale offer. Despite originally telling me I could take up the offer their slow customer service shifted me from person to person and wasted my time with over 22 emails back and forth just to end up telling me that I can’t purchase at that price because the sale had elapsed (because of Whoops slow response). I believe this is illegal under Australian consumer law and moreover Whoops customer service team has failed to look after a long term repeat customer. One very disappointed customer

Charged after membership

Udazer on

Great app, the whoop band really helps in the fitness and support area. However, even after I stopped my free trial and sent it back on time. I still got charged the full amount which ended up around $300. Three other people I know I referred to get it also got charged after stopping the free trial and returning their band. Quite a big surprise looking at your account and $300+ is missing from it.

Keep up the good work!

Stingey on

Whoop is an absolute part of my life. Objective. Useful. Holds me accountable. I also like the fact that's it's smart in terms of the data that it gives me but doesn't pretend to be a watch. The strength training addition is great and I hope the UX for lifting continues to improve. I have never adopted the smart watch thing - not only because I like real watches - but because disconnection from emails and texts and other notifications is important to me. The subscription price revision makes sense, and as a long term member I am looking forward to getting the benefit when I next renew. For the whoop product team my advice is to stay true to what you deliver and keep looking at other health metrics you can add. I don't want or need another screen!!!
