The chat support is not working (screen turns black), neither is the written communication with the accommodation. This has been going on for months now. That’s not reasonable.
In my summer holidays, this was the booking platform with the most favorable rates, most of the times. Don’t forget to include it in your trip planning!
hotels.com is apparently rolling out a new rewards program called “OneKey Points”. as it already has been rolled out in the US and UK you have to be extremely careful to not receive OneKey Points instead of bonus nights when booking on hotels.com from the US or the UK. I booked a hotel for 4 nights for $600 and received $17 in One Key points VS 4 the Stamps. I contacted the support team but I was told it was my fault and did not offer any solution (which is laughable, it should technically be impossible to be put in a different rewards program when booking with your European account, independent from where you access the web site or app). Given that OneKey is much less attractive than the past rewards program and will surely come to all the other regions soon it is advisable to choose a different platform from the beginning. I had a fun run with hotels.com and loved the simple “1 night for free after 10 nights” program but other sites are simply cheaper to book on now that this 10% discount will be gone. researching the internet a bit because I had this issue it seems like customers in the Uk and US are furious with the change as well, it’s a classic case of optimizing short-term revenues while forgetting why your long-time customers liked you in the first place.

Comparing the offers I receive as a loyal silver member with “exclusive” discounts, only proved to be still more expensive than the other websites with no particular discounts. Now the app works perfectly. Offers a variety of options. But, price-wise, I feel so betrayed having used hotels.com for so long with their promise of low prices. Only to be checking and comparing the past 4 months for all my bookings, and realize I’ve been paying 10-15€ extra more every night, believing I had some sort of “silver member exclusive 10-15% discount” while I still paid more. Horribly disappointed. You know what you fid hotels.com.
App com muitos bloqueios. Tenho que estar sempre a fechar e reenviar. Ainda agora tive que o fazer e não consigo encontrar a minha noite de recompensa porque quando bloqueou eu já tinha colocado para usar. Agora não consigo aceder à ajuda porque…imagem…bloqueia quando entro na página da ajuda
