In contrast to Screen Time, one sec delays access to apps and websites instead of blocking them completely – this is fundamentally different than any other screen time tool you’ve tried before!
Have you tried a digital detox? And it did not work, because you fall back into your habits immediately?
Well here is the solution:
one sec solves our unhealthy phone relationship at its roots: by making distracting apps less appealing, our brains lose interest to open them all the time without proper intention.
The effectiveness of one sec has been confirmed in a peer-reviewed scientific study with the Max-Planck Institute and Heidelberg University: app usage drops by 57% on average! Long-term!
Fight the social media algorithms and win back control over your phone usage & your subconsciousness!
“one sec” uses Shortcuts Automation to toggle a deep breath animation whenever you open one of the configured apps (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube…). This breaks unconcious social media habits short-term (literally, as soon as you have set it up) and even helps long-term by adding more friction when opening these apps.
Did you really want to open Instagram? Or was it just because you're bored waiting for your bus?
This app helps you to reflect your actions, thoughts, and feelings; disrupting harmful social media habits with mindfulness.
On top of that, “one sec” also contributes your mindful moments to the Health App via HealthKit.
Especially for people with ADHD one sec is a great tool to gain back control for incredible focus and concentration.
Integrations and collabs:
- You can set up one sec to sync tasks with Structured, so you won't be able to access social media apps during ongoing unfinished tasks.
- You can set up one sec to learn a new language with LENGO, so every time you open social media, you have to answer a handful of vocabularies.

Super duper effective
I’ve been having a hard time staying productive mainly because I’m always scrolling through TikTok, instagram, YouTube and etc. But now with one sec I have seen an extreme difference in my screen time and have become less likely to go on my social apps which makes me feel more productive throughout the day.
Lock Settings Password
Loving it so far, the only thing missing would be an option to lock the settings with a password. Since it’s pretty easy to just change the settings, this feature would be nice. I’d have a friend set the password and then I won’t be able to change the settings so easily.
bug
The app is good in blocking apps. However, i have a problem in my shopee app. When i chooses to open it, it will directly open a shopee link in safari rather than opening the app. also, i can’t find the lazada app in the list of apps in configuring a shortcut.
Satisfied
Thank you so much, great app!
Can you please include Wattpad in the list?
Thank you. Love this app.
Doesn’t include other apps
The app is functionable for popular apps, but not for those like characterai and such. Not all apps are accesable for it to be made blocked.
An app that I need and would recommend 👍🏻
At first I was just going to try it out because I have tried a couple of apps by now to help control my impulsiveness. But most of them didn’t really appeal to me and some are just way out of my budget.
I just wanna say that this app has it all:
(1) blocking certain apps you want to block at a specific time,
(2) the automatic interventions whenever you open the app you are trying to avoid or lessen the usage,
(3) the countdown/timer that will make you see how much time you’re spending scrolling through social media apps (while also tracking your real intention for using it) and many more *chef’s kiss* it’s just perfect! 🤩
These are just the features that I love! ❤️
I already feel like a different person because it saves me time and from doom scrolling. From 5-7 hours of screen time, I was able to lessen it to 30 mins max a day. This app helps me to be aware and to stay focused 💪🏻 Talk about effectiveness 💯 but I must say that a part of it also comes from discipline and with the intention of trying something out to help change the bad habit.
For first time users like me, it can be challenging to set it up at first if you’re not used to setting up automations, but the steps are provided in the app so you won’t get lost 😊
It’s the fairest of them all and at an affordable price 👏🏻 I’m a current Structured Pro user and I’m taking advantage of the discounted offer.
Kudos to the developer/s. This app is wonderful and a great help!

Turn off vibration
I love it! But I hope we can opt to turn off the vibration for the deep breath exercise, etc
