Typical airline garbage app
Like all airline apps, this one barely works.
First and foremost I cannot understand why I have to enter my passport info EVERY TIME.
Secondly, when you go to check in, you are routed to web, and the web banner says “get the app”.
Changing the seat is a terrible UX. I click on the seat, click change seats, nothing happens. Then I figure out I have to first click ‘change’; then click on seat, then click change seats.
The app makes no attempt to simplify purchase or check in. I do the same trip 4+ times a year and the following things are always the same:
Same passport
Same airports
Window seat
No bags
M-F
Direct flight
And every time I have to manually deal with all those things through their terrible UI.
Unfortunately every airline I fly has the same terrible user experience. Otherwise I’d have given them one star instead of two.
Check in process and boarding card is painful
The checking process doesn’t always work, often opening a broken page in safari. After forcing it to open in chrome you can check in but then get a PDF for your troubles… back in the app and you have to restart the “checkin and boarding pass” process to view your boarding pass. Unnecessary steps when you’re in a hurry. It should be App - Check In - Accept Conditions - Show Boarding Pass - simple!

Superb
Just amazing how easy it is to plan a trip and get tickets. The app just does everything you need. It also gives you information about your flight and departure and destination. Very helpful. Thanks BA.
Useless
A web-wrapper app in 2024 to make a check-in? Come on! Totally useless. You better do anything in their website.

Refreshingly bad
I’ve been spoiled by all the other airline sites I use. And it only took booking one trip through BA to realize how good everyone else has gotten.
The app and site are basically unusable due to poor programming (would love to meet the bright bulb put in charge of this deployment) and database connectivity issues.
I will avoid BA in every possible way.
British Airways solutions not entirely 100%
When I fly business - why can’t I chose my seats when booking? In the App - how come I can’t download a members card to my Iphone wallet?
