Description

How We Feel is a free app created by scientists, designers, engineers, and therapists to help people better understand their emotions and find strategies to help them navigate their emotions in the moment. Conceived in conjunction with Yale University's Center for Emotional Intelligence and based on the work of Dr Marc Brackett, How We Feel helps people find the right word to describe how they feel while tracking their sleep, exercise, and health trends using HealthKit in order to spot patterns over time.

Founded as a science-based nonprofit, How We Feel is made possible by donations from people who are passionate about bringing mental wellbeing to the widest possible audience. Our data privacy terms are clear and easy-to-understand: all of your data is kept on your device unless you opt-in to send an anonymized version of your check-ins to be used in research to help more people.

Whether you are downloading this app in order to build better relationships, make your emotions to work for you, not against you, improve how you handle stress and anxiety or simply to feel better, How We Feel will help you identify patterns through daily HealthKit tracking and find emotional regulation strategies that will work for you. The How We Feel friends feature allows you to share how you feel with the people you trust most in real time, strengthening your most important relationships.

Filled with step-by-step video strategies you can do in as little as one minute on themes like "Change Your Thinking" to help you address negative thought patterns with cognitive strategies; "Move Your Body" to express and release emotions through movement strategies;"Be Mindful" to gain perspective and minimize the negative impact of misunderstood emotions with mindfulness strategies; "Reach Out" to build intimacy and trust, two important tools for emotional wellbeing, with social strategies.

incredible

this is the best well-being app i’ve ever used. no doubt about it. it absolutely deserves the 4.9 star rating it has while i’m writing this, but deserves thousands of reviews saying the same. the user interface is gorgeous and easy to use, the exercises it gives you to regulate your mood are incredible, there’s a great range of moods to choose from and the friend feature is just wonderful. i’ve been using the app for over half a year and have had absolutely no problems. the weekly review feature helps you to identify negative habits and build positive ones. the overall check in breakdown along with the entire analysing tab is beautifully designed. if i had one idea to improve the app, i would recommend a way to add more personalised emotions. the current range is fantastic, but sometimes there are feelings (eg okay, upset, guilty, glad) that aren’t there i’d like to add. this is genuinely a wonderful app i’ve used daily since downloading. i already have and will continue to recommend How We Feel as often as i can.

LOVE IT !

if you’re interested in working on your own emotional intelligence THIS IS THE APP FOR YOU! i love how there’s different (4) levels of pleasant and unpleasant emotions you can choose from, im learning alot from the lessons it gives every week or so you check in with your emotions. I learnt that everytime someone asks me how i am, i tend to use one word as an umbrella for what im actually feeling. Not only did i learn how to pinpoint what im feeling but also why im feeling the way im feeling and find out ways to overcome it (unpleasant) or just enjoy the moment (pleasant). They give a limit of two emotions w/ each check in, which i think is enough because there’s such a wide range of emotions already that you can pick from. I also like that after a week of checking in they give an overall result of your emotions so you can see what common emotion you had in that week. I’ve just finished Emotions 101 so i can’t wait for the next lessons 😊

Great app

It a great app, definitely 10/10 and not being attacked by ads 24/7 is also amazing but some of the text is in other things so I can’t access it, this isn’t any serious as it’s just the stats and stuff so it doesn’t really matter. It would be nice if you fixed that but it’s still a very useful app so I’ll keep my rating up
