Description

Where does all your money go? Exactly where you tell it to!

“We started YNAB January 1st with $37 saved and ended the year with $42,000. Plus we paid $14,000 cash for a new roof.”
-Kyle, YNAB user since 2020

If you’re like the average YNABer (just AVERAGE), you’ll save $600 in the first two months. And $6,000 in the first year. But you might experience something much more powerful than a growing bank account balance or paid off credit cards: 92% of YNABers report feeling less stressed since starting YNAB.

“YNAB has removed the stress of money from my life and in doing so has helped make me a better husband. It's like I got to remove a personal flaw I had never been able to fix."
-Kyle, again. We didn’t even pay him to say this, but maybe we should.

Every dollar represents you—it’s the product of your energy. You work too hard for all that to go to waste. We’ll show you how to give every dollar a job, so your paychecks are working toward your priorities and values, your wants and needs, your work and your play. Your money is your life. YNAB Reviews

Not woth the money in Europe

JRDRKV on

Slovakia

No support for EU banks that are supported with other competitors like Banktivity or MoneyWiz or even MoneyPro. But the price is same for US and EU so You are getting half of the app for same huge premium price.(Probably the most expensive app in personal finance management). iOS app is so so OK for iPhone but definitely not good enough for iPad (missing reports are biggest fail). On Mac there is no standalone app, only web app. So my advice is to usr only if you have supported bank. Otherwise not worth the money even if the concept of budgeting here is really excellent.

Top web app - totally bed iOS app

Miro11118 on

I'm tested multiple apps for home budgeting and finance. Ynab is the most controversial of all. From all apps I tested ynab have best web app version but absolutely catastrophic iPhone app. This iPhone app is total flop and it's really useless. There is no single report, extremely bed design and user interface is worse than any other app I have. Ynab is great but if you need also mobile app this is the worst opinion I found on App Store. I give 5 star for web app but -1000 for iOS app.

Great budgeting app

It takes a while to understand the concept of YNAB but it is really good. It’s like a small version of an accounting program and once you get the concept it works really well. Now I can track my money and see how it flows. It helps me to reach my savings goals.

Best Budgeting app on the Planet!

Love the 4 simple rules! Give every dollar a job Budget for true expenses Age your money Roll with the punches Love the automatic downloads from bank! Love how easy it is to use on my phone! It may seem pricey when compared with other budgeting apps. But it has made budgeting so simple! I think it’s totally worth the annual fee. It has significantly reduced my stress, I know if I can afford something and I know what I am giving up. The new reports that let you see spend trends by category are great!

You keep changing the UI and making it harder to use. Everything is so big and take up so much space now. Don't fix what isn't broke.

Bring back the old app

Do not like what you have done with redesign. Cannot move categories around any longer. Cleared vs uncleared is a nightmare. Hate hate hate it !!

Recent update very confusing

Myra5900 on

United States

I don’t know exactly what happened in this latest update, but approving transactions is very frustrating. Catagories, payees, just not appearing the way they did before the update. I’m sure I’m not being very clear, but something significant changed.

So helpful!

kbw1985 on

I read You Need a Budget about a year ago and then spent time trying to create my own budget because I felt like I could do it myself and save money! After lots of time and frustration I realized it was more cost effective to pay someone to help me. 😅 it is definitely worth it for the help and peace of mind it brings for me! I have been loving it and how it helps me give all my money a job. I can look at how we spend as data to adjust as needed and love that it syncs to our accounts. Such a wonderful app, thank you!!

Again, do not like the recent updates!!

Mom2dlre on

United States

Do not like the account views on mobile. Too busy with “uncleared” rather than the “c” icon. Also do not like the shaded memos. Every update creates a busier look with more taps.

Changes for the sake of changes

samueldavidmiller on

United States

Not pleased with the recent change to how cleared/uncleared transactions are displayed. The new design adds lots of unnecessary space and takes up much more room. Also, seeing notes for each transaction is not important to me in the list view. It should be an option to enable/disable something like this. All these changes to “make it easier for new YNABers to get started” is sometimes making it worse for users. Having a slight on ramp to understand the YNAB system is not something that needs to be decimated. Encourage learning rather than eliminating longstanding systems in the name of simplification.
